when i go to mexico i dont expect them to speak english
when i go to namibia i dont expect them to speak english
we are the ONLY country that has PROGRAMS that are funded by the gov to help people learn english.
why ?????
while i have no qualls with the anthem being sung in spanish...i do have a problem with people expecting US to cater to them.....
Darthphere said:Good points really. But those countries have official languages.
DarthRekal said:last i checked english was the official language here..did that change??? the only thing thats unofficial is our religion...although some would disagree
And what dialect was this country founded on? English. The US is the only country in the world that allows other cultures to come in, b**** about what they don't like, and have it changed to suit their wants. The national anthem can be sung in any language for all I care but if you don't like my country...LEAVE!Darthphere said:Good points really. But those countries have official languages.

Mr Sparkle said:LOL, actually by your logic you should speak whatever tongue the indian nations used.![]()
DarthRekal said:wow ..honestly??? i was led to believe different..but i do know...that its an "unwritten" rule... that you speak english in america... for example...
im not gonna go to your house and automatically speak spanish to you and yours.... i EXPECT(only due to this conversation) for you to speak english..when people visit..they KNOW they need to speak english...
i dont understand the logic...
i was raised when you go to someones house ..you follow THEIR rules... while a good host is courteous and catering...it is not an OBLIGATION to bend over backwards....

Mexico and South America should be speaking Aztec or Incan...but hey the Spaniards conquered them and guess what??? THEY SPEAK SPANISH!Mr Sparkle said:LOL, actually by your logic you should speak whatever tongue the indian nations used.![]()

Mr Sparkle said:lol, that must be you only, because you'd be the first person to ever go outside the US and not expect to have your language spoken back to you.
in Tijuana about 90%, 90% of everything in in both english and spanish and close to, or perhaps more than 60% of people speak english fluently.
no outcry as of yet.
but yeah, your country has a lot of programs that only apply to your country, you should learn about all of them.

DarthRekal said:oh no doubt ..english is quickly becoming universal..especially where tourism(of americans in particular) is rampant....in japan too most speak english... but thats beyond the point ..i was trying to convey..i wouldnt EXPECT them to..i know some do
