You should not be ashamed of your culture and origins just because you are outnumbered in your environment. You should take pride in being different and embrace it. It is attitudes like that that suppress minor cultures from embracing theirselves and are then accused of excluding others. If you go to another country learn their language but keep yours, learn their culture but keep yours, and learn their customs but keep yours.

You see the reason why Mestizos never had to be assimalated was because their were already other Mestizos here in the country already when other were barely coming in. So when we left the mother land we just came into the sister land.

I have no complaint about things being in different cultures and languages all at once. Yes, there are some ou there who want everything their way and don't want to adapt like my mother for example. She's been in this country for 17 years and STILL doesn't wanna learn English. She complains about nobody wanting to give her and job and doesn't see it as important to learn English. She ALWAYS demands for spanish speaking doctors, repair men, bankers, receptionist, etc!! If she can't understand you she'll MAKE you get somebody who will.

She's doing herself a real disservice.

The Athem in spanish is as cheesy as the version sang by pop artist of the 90's. It's actually pop artist of the time now(the spanish one).

The USA Athemn is not that good either, as mention before, it uses an old irish drunk song.

Mexico's Athem is better. Second only to the French one(rated by the artistical point of view).

I concider that the Immigrants that are gonna march(which are almost all of them legal) that they have the right to look for the people they feel opresion on.

Most average USA citizens are racist and/or ignorant as hell

Plus the audacity to compare it to the Civil Rights movement, when they where fighting for not only legitimate rights, but the acknowledgement of there humanity and equality. #3

Well, some of them are TRYING. Hell, I speak broken english sometimes and I can say I speak it better than some Americans, as in Southeners and some Canjuns(Who I swear, they don't speak english at all!)

And well, everyone comes to US and makes it their own. That's why you have a melting pot..

I wish you well on your education, but will you leave when your visa is up or will you become an illegal? I'm not trying to be rude or incite you it's a valid question. Who will you be? A hypocrite or go through proper channels for American citizenship if you so choose?

Now on to your statement..many Mexicans are of Native lineage yes, but so are many Americans, myself I am of Seminole and Cherokee lineage when my slave ancestors ran away to florida and mixed with the Natives who took them in. So my claim is no less valid than yours to being of this land of the Americas.

The government for all the issues I have with it is right on this issue, we most protect our borders. Not only illegals come through the border, drugs and other contraband to also.

Now with the heightened threat of terrorism you want us to allow anyone to freely cross our border?

To the illegals already here I understand their plight and in a way I cannot help but sympathize with them. I'm African-American our history has been wraught with pain and suffering and injustice, yet illegals are not Americans they barely if at all pay taxes. A good deal of their income goes back to Mexico and not to the American economy.

Your President Vincente Fox knows this, his pay check is partially funded by the American economy and the drugs that pass through his borders to ours. Then Mexico laws are very much the opposite to ours when it comes to immigration more hostile yet America bends over backwards to accumidate illegals.

These people got it good compared to a blackman in Selma, Alabama in 1965 and he was American! So to me if they do not truly imbrace our culture and want to learn English they need not be here.
