Re-doing Spartacus as a TV mini-series seemed like a dumb idea, at first. That was until I got my birthday present a little earlier in the form of a SMOKIN' clip of Lucy Lawless doing some bonafide intentional nudity in an ancient setting. I mean, sure, there's gladiator action, blood, and all that other crap, too, but, nipples a la Xena??? God bless those sexy women from the Austrailian continent.

Well after being bombarded by ads of hunky men in leather I was forced to check this out. Two episodes in and the show is simply wonderful. I love period peices anyways, espeically ancient history stuff so this was right up my alley. So many familiar faces -- John Hannah from The Mummy and Craig Parker who played Haldir in the Lord of the Rings movies. Well acted, gritty, maybe a tad smuttier than it needs to be, but it's still a riviting drama and quite enjoyable, at least from where I'm sitting.
