Anyone reads Spawn here? It's getting really great now after the Armageddon. Starting issue #166, Spawn changes direction into more real and horror themed. The last page of 166 is especially well done. I am not a fan of Spawn before this but I'm now hooked by this new direction. The artwork also fits the dark atmosphere!!!

Heh, I used to. Back when the movie came out, I thought his outfit was cool, and my dad bought me a binder with Spawns 1-15 as a gift.

I used to be a constant reader and hold up the general first 100 issue arc as one of the greatest runs of comics ever. Sure there are some meandering and terrible issues peppered throughout, but the overarching story was fantastic. After that I stopped buying and kept reading, but much as I expected the story really sucked wind. Once they reinvented the wheel again with 150 onwards, it got quite a bit better- I'm intrigued by the new direction, but it will never have the magic and power of the original storyline- which was completely wrapped up in issue 100.


Also, whoever has been coloring the book over the past few years- they really need to stop with the stupid digital after effects. Not the book for it, distracting in every issue- even in that one image you posted up there.

Spawn all ways looked cool. Never thought his storys were good though.
