Spider-Man : The Animated Series followed by The Spectacular Spider-Man

even though i still love tas till this day with all its censoring and restriction i love what tssm is doing.

I love spec sm so much....there is nothing more i could wish for.

but i still like TAs more...the non stop action, those long storylines, those superhero crossovers and its subplots as well.

TAS was great when I was a kid, but watching it now it doesn't offer much for the older viewer. It only has nostalgic value these days.

Spectacular Spider-Man, while still aimed for younger audiences, offers a lot more for adults. Such as Spidey's "Premature Gloatilation" quip in the latest episode.

ah yes...the fight scenes in that show were amazing.

/s

what? there were amazing fight scenes in S:TAS??? all i remember is a ridiculously buff, poorly animated spidey getting whacked around or knocked-out by the guest villain or hero of the week, and then getting saved by somebody.

I agree with you. Look at the end of my post: /s=end sarcasm.

I suppose I've outed myself as a geek that expects everyone to know fake html tags.

There there

*pats back*

I know what you meant :oldrazz:

It's really only fair to make real comparisons after SSM ends its run. We only had one season so far while TAS had five.

Spider-man tas for me, but by the end of SSM season 2, I think that will change. It also helps SSM that it's my only real outlet for my Spider-man fanboyness right now, ever since I've sworn off the dreadful comics.

That's true but to be fair, season 1 had some KICK ASS animation. It's pretty much the only season of that series I can still stand to watch.

yea i know alot dont like what is going on in the comics currently since one more day, but i think some of the things from brand new day have been pretty good. Though i wished they did it in another way.

Thing is, if they DID do it in another way, I probably would have kept reading. That, and ditch the 3x a month gimmick. I just can't spend $10+ a month on one title. Anyway, but to have the Devil that is Mesphito, himself, do the deal and have Pete accept? Couldn't Pete have like rejected the deal or something, and as a reward an angel or some other holy entity gave him the retcon anyway for his resisted temptation against evil?

if you include sting of the scorpion, armed and dangerous and the venom saga to the first series of tas, it probably is better than spec now (since 90% of tas' best eps came from that period).

but tas fade to mediocre really quickly and starts dragging arcs out into 14 part eps. There are probably only 6/7 good eps after that initial batch, the rest are filler-tastic

Pete did reject it, it was MJ who took up the deal with him in the end i think.

No Pete DID accept the deal, it was his choice. MJ only helped convince him to do it, almost akin to Adam and Eve.

I thought mj acceptaed it and that's how she was able to bargain becoming jackpot

She whispered something inaudible into Mesphito's ear after Pete made the deal, to which Mesphito agrees. That's about it, but from what I heard, it turns out she wasn't Jackpot after all. Some random other person was.

lol. To be fair, I don't think Dan Slott had anything to do with it, even though she was originally his character. It's just one of those problems I wouldn't see happening if they weren't constantly rotating writers due to the 3x a month thing.

i voted tas but i think ssm will overtake it if it continues being good.

The Spectacular is great in everything, except for the design of the characters, which is too childish.
TAS was a great show back then (still is imo), but it has it flaws.

Anyway, I went for the '94 TAS in the end, I think it deserves my vote more than Spectacular after all.;)
