Saw it last night. It Gave me diarrhea.

Overall I liked it. I missed the middle of it (due to diarrhea), but it was good, for an animated movie. All of the colors.... no wonder people do drugs!

7/10

I'll be watching this a fourth time tomorrow night, this time while smoking some weed, I'll be sure to report to you how epic it will be haha.

just watched this on DVD on a big screen TV...I enjoyed it...the whole sequence where they tell Rex's backstory stood out for me.....if you have motion sickness or epilepsy, stay away

i picked up myself for like 15 bucks at a out of town wal mart. the movie looks great but the extras are kinda sucky, but i did like the info about the cars and all the stuff that made them work. I would have at least liked the trailer on there. it is still a fun movie and it looks great even on my 32" LCD set and sounds great on my 770 watt surround sound

GO SPEED GO!!
:hehe:

I am watching again. Still love it. I noticed during my rewatch that Spritle gives Royalton the finger when he and Speed are being thrown out of his building :lmao:`

Lmao. I wish this came out in 3D Imax, with me on acid while watching it. That would be the craziest experience imaginable.

Just saw it. I liked it. It was completely ridiculous. There were moments that I thought were horrendous, but it's too unique to completely hate. I'd give it a 3 out of 5.

that and "Get that weak **** off my track" were fantastic....and Spritle's line about sending Royalton some "Chim Chim cookies"

Watched it again last night with my Dad, whois in his fifties but also a film buff.

He was reluctant at first, but by the time Racer X showed up he started getting more into it. He got a few good laughs out of it, although I'm not completly sure it was because of the movie or because of John Goodman(The Big Lebowski's like the holy text to him, it'll be fun seeing how he respnds to Jeff Bridges in Iron Man.)

But Yeah, he seemed to enjoy for what it was, he kept comparing it to the Adam West Batman show.

So, I smoked quite some weed and watched this around the ninja part. I was going insane at the end of the movie with the final race and all the colours, jesus. The movie was amazing stoned out of my face, definatley a must.

I don't do drugs, however I couldn't help but wonder what this movie would be like if it had a sitar soundtrack...

This movie seems to have sparked a movement in the skeevy stoners around the world. More reason for this movie to be a Crayola monster crap.

If you watched this movie on drugs, wouldn't it give you siezures or something? I mean, at least with Willie Wonka it was pretty slow paced for the most part. Maybe if you were on speed or cocain or something, but I'd think the average pot head would have a hard time keeping up.

I smoked at least four grams between me and two other guys, along with some hash out of a bong. I was messed up, but I still paid attention and understood the movie but I was going nuts over the colours and how realistic it was stoned. This is definatley going to go down as a smoker's movie, you trip out mad watching the Grand Prix.

I rented this movie last week and thought it was horrible. It just seemed to have no idea what kind of movie it wanted to be, family drama, the dangers of corporate greed, racing movie, slapstick action comedy. And Sprittle, oh that kid should've been killed! I would have rather watched the life and times of Jar-Jar Binks than suffer one more scene with that kid. I realize he was in the cartoon, but he's exactly why some things need to be changed when bringing a franchise to a new medium. All his antics had no point and were just really annoying.

not everyone is going to like this movie because it's so stylized, but i loved it. if you're an anime fan and you don't like this movie then something's wrong with you. this movie was basically an anime brought to life. i disagree that it didn't know what kind of movie it wanted to be because i felt that this was an anime movie through and through. anime often talks about corporate greed, it often deals with family issues, and of course it has the slapstick action comedy.

i came into this movie with lowered expectations because everyone was bashing it, but it's clear to me that most of those people probably aren't into anime. the visual style, the vibrant colors, the action sequences....they all scream "ANIME!!!" i loved most of the acting, even though Emile Hirsche sorta had the Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker syndrome going on (flat, monotone delivery), the story was pretty good even if it's predictable, and the action was crrraaaazzy. by the end of the film, i was totally into it.

what i love about this film (along with the first Matrix) is that it made me feel like i can be anything i want to be and do anything i want to do. the reaction of Speed's family while he was tearing through the last lap was so genuine that i really connected with that scene. it's a real shame that this movie did so badly at the box office, because this movie made me a Speed Racer fan.

also, this movie cemented by opinion that the Wachowski's should've directed the Dragon Ball movie. i can guarantee that i won't laugh out loud, tear up, or have my mind blown when i watch DB the way i did when i watched Speed Racer.

I enjoyed it a lot. Watched it on BR today and probably will buy when it goes on sale. Never watched the cartoon before so can't base the movie off of it. Enjoyed all parts of the movie and cast

As a fan of the movie Serenity, I'm jaded enough to say that's just never gonna happen.

While it's disappointing that this film didn't get a very good reception, I think it's the kind of movie that could build up a cult following over the next few years. First, you've got druggies who apparently love to wig out while watching this movie, and then there's also the fact that kids love this film, even though most don't have access to it since parents aren't interested. Kids tend to have a lot more sway over movie rentals and purchases than they do over movie theater outings, and the Blu-Ray is getting really good reviews which should please videophiles. I'm not saying it's going to make up for it's poor performance in theaters, but I think it will get an enthusiastic following.
