While it's disappointing that this film didn't get a very good reception, I think it's the kind of movie that could build up a cult following over the next few years. First, you've got druggies who apparently love to wig out while watching this movie, and then there's also the fact that kids love this film, even though most don't have access to it since parents aren't interested. Kids tend to have a lot more sway over movie rentals and purchases than they do over movie theater outings, and the Blu-Ray is getting really good reviews which should please videophiles. I'm not saying it's going to make up for it's poor performance in theaters, but I think it will get an enthusiastic following.
I am going to agree with you on the skeevy stoner cult following:o Just like Rocky Horror Picture Show is loved by Drag Queens...this will be loved by 30 year old pot heads in their mom's basement:woot:

But still, Wachowski's delivered another ground breaking picture that went over the edge but it was just too childish and hoaky for me....and I use to watch the cartoon.

Well finally saw this a couple days ago and i've got to admit it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. It was super cartoony but I had no problem with it. Ultimately it was based on a kids cartoon and was what I would have expected. My little neices and nephews loved it.

I really liked it. A movie full of cool action and lots of heart.

8/10

in the behind the scenes section there is a new video. great work.
its stylized but they still made good effects IMO. DD is very good. Bay is the owner.

Bump. I love this movie.

I think we should start an uprising.

This is prolly one of the most underated films of 08.

But it could have been so much better...

I love this movie because I judged it on the basis of what it really was rather than how I expected it to be. The races, though a little "out there", are some of the most creative action set pieces I've seen in a few years. People need to discover their inner kid every once in a while by letting their imagination go completely wild and this film does just that.

I don't see how you guys could enjoy it so much when it had the most annoying character in any movie since Jar Jar Binks.

And no, I'm not talking about Chim Chim. That kid is the Antichrist.

Just because we enjoyed it doesn't mean we absolutely loved EVERY SINGLE thing in it. And yes, the monkey and the kid (among other things as well) are some of the things that drag it down a bit.

But the monkey and the kid HAD to be there they were in the cartoon and that way in the cartoon as well.

Well they still sucked! I would kill that fat son of a ***** kid if I ever saw him on the streets

I want to kick the kid in the face while wearing ice skates.

I just liked when the kid flipped Royalton the bird. That scene was pretty great.

But yeah, the kid annoyed the **** outta me the rest of the time.

Its a pretty decent flick, but its still too long.

I never judge movies on how long they are. A movie can be five hours long, but if it's good, I'll never say a word.

It depends on the movie to me. Just because a movie is good doesn't mean that it can be as long as it wants. I know several films that I liked that would hugely benefit from being shorter.

It really depends on how well a movie is pacing itself, and how good the plot is overall. Hancock could've stopped a little over walf-way through, but The Dark Knight worked out just fine with 2 1/2 hours.

Honestly, I didnt have a problem about TDK's length, but there were still a few things that could've been cut (the Hong Kong stuff, for instance... was good the first time around, but after rewatching, its just kinda meh.)
