Which Spider-man movie did you perfer. Spider-man 1 or 2? For me I perfered Spider-man 1.

#2.

1 just kinda felt blah to me. while number 2 didnt have as much action I like the development of the characters.

I thought one was really good and introduced the characters in a great way. part 2's fight scenes knocked your socks off, and developed the characters and relationships really well.

Wrong forum.

Anyway 1 was a decent superhero movie (if a bit by the numbers) that told the best origin in a superhero movie save maybe STM that had excellent acting from a terrific cast. But the screenplay was so obviously made by a studio committee and left no room for the characters to just breathe and it ended in the last act as generic as they took away GG's bite by not letting him kill anyone important (it didn't have to be Gwen).

Then SM2 is just a really well made movie. Again well acted and well cast, Raimi definetly is more comfortable here as the direction is smoother and the transitions feel seamless in the storyline (no need for a montage here), the villain while not quite as good is visually more appealing and better utlized, the action due to a bigger budget is better and more importantly Raimi was given some breathing room and got to take the characters in new directions that weren't neccesarily essiential to the plot, like for example Peter revealing what happened to Aunt May as possibly the best scene in the movie. And the ending didn't feel cheesy but stirring and emotional with a great cliffhanger (like the first).

The second is a superhero greatness a near masterpiece in the art of summer blockbuster popcorn entertainment up there with SW, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Futre, LOTR, POTC (the first one) and so on. The first movie is a solid superhero movie but the second is probably the best the genre has ever offered and just a great movie within itself. I am so glad Sargent was brought in from the get-go and none of Koepp's hack writing infected this film, then.

just move it. Theres no need to close it

I cant watch either spider-man movie anymore.. I watched them so many times when they were both in theatres.. and when they were released on dvd.. It's just too hard to watch em anymore ;p

Yeah..... i think this thread is in the wrong section...

Part 1,just because I love the story that tells the origin of the hero, and because a Goblin was in it.

2, because Willem Dafoe's GG voice is unbearable. Why do people in superhero movies always lower their voices? Ever notice how Christian Bale sounds like Donald Trump when he's in the Batsuit?

As much as I love the first movie, I prefer Spider-man 2 even more, thanks to further character development, greater action sequences, a better supervillain performance and an excellent cliffhanger.

Both Spidey-Movies are great. But the first Movie will be always the best Movie.

Both. In a way the first and in another way the second.

Seeing Spider-man web-sling for the very first time holds a special place in my heart:)

The one thing that bothered me about the second one was some scenes could have been chopped. Like the part Peter is eating cake, that didn't add anything to the movie. I love the intro to Spidey 2 though, that was amazing. Hahaah and Doc Ock saying ''butter fingers''.

spider-man 1 but its pretty average and has bad pacing. SM2 I didn't like at all and has worse pacing then the first.

Spider-Man 1.

Becuase first off I've seen Spider-Man 2 on cable like maybe more then a hundred times and still isn't sick if that movie yet but I seen Spider-Man 1 only a couple times and can still remember how good it was plus my favorite super villain is in it.

'nuff said, Crowe. My Sentiments exactly!

For me the best scene in 2 is Harry finding the Goblins lair.

Yeah, I also loved the Doc/Spidey fight just after he saves Aunt May.

Thanks.

And I refuse to agree that the cake scene should be chopped. A scene like that just put a little humorand humanity in it. Peter's life isn't all bad and gave him a moment of reflection and everyday life that was not essiential to the story but certainly benefitted the character. The first movie needed scenes like that. I really feel the worst thing the first movie did was under utilize Willem Dafoe as Spidey's greatest enemy and foe. He should have been the end-all be-all of evil and dispicable at the end when he weas beating Spidey sensless. We should just hate the sight of him and watching him thrash Spidey would've been more than shocking but enraging to seem him doing so.

Problem is how do you making him more hated?
