I looked around and I couldn't see anything like this thread so I'd thought I'd post it. This is a thread to discuss all your favorite Sm movie games.

Spiderman 1 was very lackluster but 2 was very good. Heard number 3 sucked though

None of the movie games have been "good", rather its which one sucked least, which was the 2nd one. The 2nd title gave us the "authentic" web swinging and the open world city but even by that times standards the game looked ugly and had horrid mission structure. Still, i dont think i had ever been as excited about a video game as i was Spider-Man 2.

i rank them as follows:

1 - Spiderman 2
2 - Spiderman 3
3 - Spiderman 1

2 & 3 are pretty similar. the open world and choosing what missions to do is great.

1 is just your basic formula game with linear levels

for the most part i enjoyed the games, but they were nothing out of the ordinary. the controls when swinging sometimes pissed me off.

2 was great.

3 was more of the same, although the novelty of an 'open world' had wore off.

1, however, doesn't get enough praise. The fighting was excellent--jumping on people's backs from swinging and mule kicking. I'd love to revisit this game.

^Don't forget playing as Green Goblin{Err, escuse me, I mean New Goblin}.

How could I forget?

I had a great cheat for #1: it was 'behindthemask' or something and it made the game first person. It was difficult, but if you put in the cheat and sat right in front of the TV in Spider-Man boxer shorts, it was like you were actually swinging.

Spider-man 3 got so flippin hard it was impossible to beat. And I've beaten some pretty hard games. Ninja Gaiden Black, DMC3, all three god of wars. (on the hardest difficulty of course.)

I was stuck on the part with the asian gang, and there were like statues and stuff, and it was in a room. It was basically, smash the buttons hard and hope you don't die. Not my kinda challenge. Thinking about it now is driving me crazy though, I wanna go back and beat it. But I sold it.

I just ordered it again. I'm determined to take this game down. Wish there was an invincible code so I could just enjoy the ride.

Try and forget about the men when you get in the room. Don't run around fighting them because they'll keep coming from the pots. Make the pots your priority.

Does anyone remember a cheat that let you play as MAry Jane? Did they remove that on later copies of the game? I could never get it to work again.

Yeh. There were a sh**load of cheats for that game. I remember that one.

I actually like 1 a lot. It felt like the Spider-Man games on the PS1, just with better graphics and more moves. Spider-Man 2 was obviously a great title. Never got around playing Spider-Man 3. Well, not the proper one at least. Only played the Wii version.

glad i wasn't the only one having trouble with that mission :woot:

kind of sucks that Spiderman 3 didn't have trophies though. then again, i think very few PS3 games pre-2008 had trophies.

Spider-Man 1 was a great title.
Like already said, it felt like the PS1 games but with better graphics and controls. It was my third game for PS2 and I bought the console specially for this game.

Spider-Man 2 had me drooling over it. I played it every freaking day. Swinging in an open NY was new. It is one of my favorite games.

Spider-Man 3...I hated. Horrible game.

Spider Man 1 is for me, partly for nostalgia reasons, much better than most people say it is. It had fun levels, great graphics, awesome music, and good controls. Plus it had TONS of cool unlockables such as playing as the Green Goblin which is insanly fun.

1 was decent mainly because you got to play as green goblin and it changed the story of the game

I remember playing SM1 on the Gamecube and I was disappointed at how I finished it in like 5 hours because it was so short. But it was my first Spider-Man game so I enjoyed it at the time. Then Spider-Man 2 came out and it was probably one of the best games I had ever played up to that point, since I only played games for the Gamecube because my brother never let me play his PS2.

I played SM3 on the PSP and liked it for a PSP game, but was really disappointed to see that the graphics were better, if not the same than it was when I played it on the Wii. The PS3 version was better in graphics and gameplay, but overall, it was more of an updated version of SM2, so it wasn't as exciting.

Spidey 3 had better missions and the interactive cut scenes were pretty cool, but swinging around NYC wasn't as fun as it was in SM2. 2 just a a stronger sense of fun to it than 3 did. Oh and the best thing about all the games is Bruce Campbell.

IMO, Spider-Man 2 is the better of the movie games. It's always been a mixed bag with the movie games due to the fact that alot of the game feels rushed in order to meet the release of the film. So what we end up getting in return is uninspired missions, villians that had know real reason for being in the game, dialogue from the cast that sounds bland, and a plot that loosely (and I mean loosely) ties itself to the film. Spider-Man 3 didn't really feel that much like a next gen Spider-Man game, it basically Spider-Man 2 all over again with QTE's added into the mix, boss battles that followed the same formula (spider-reflex, dodge, punch enemy, use special move), got boring fast.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the first movie game? I thought the graphics at the time were very well done and I thought it was one of the better flowing stories. I personally liked how everything tied together. Vulture and Shocker working together and then Scorpion being chased by Oscorp.

Very cool.

I think a hybrid of the first and second game would be absolutely stunning!
