Spider-Man 3 Novel question [spoilers]

I heard on a web site that Venom both Eddie and the Symbiote die in a different way than in the movie. could somone please tell me what happens to them in as much detail as possible.

Won't be very detailed, but Venom has a steel pike and somehow gets impaled with it and falls to the ground and the Symbiote leaves Eddie leaving a smoking skeleton behind, showing what would happen if you let the Symbiote consume you completely. The Symbiote then fights Peter for a bit.

the book SMASHES the movie...especially they way venom was handled..they way they describe eddie having his first transformation into venom and what happens..AMAZING. It was deff an original look at it. His interaction with flint marko when they first also would have been cool even though i thought that was the single best scene in the movie.

For those of you who havent read the book...DO IT NOW. I garuntee you will not be disapointed
