Okay, here’s the idea. You’ve been given the chance to go back in time to the pitch meeting for Spider-Man 3 and, by some miracle, you’ve convinced the studio to save the black costume for Part 4 (and hopefully 5).
Anyway, that leaves the Harry Osborn story (which has been building up for two movies) and Sandman (because Sam Raimi is obviously so in love with the guy) for one movie, not to mention introducing the Gwen and Capt. Stacy, and moving along with the whole Peter/MJ relationship.

What’s the film’s story?

Raimi's original Sandman/Vulture idea.

The end.

It's been awhile since I've heard that one. Could someone please refresh my memory?

If Sandman is still the one being blamed for the death of Uncle Ben, I want him out of the movie completely or change it to when he's just a villain an not some man trying to save his daughter.

I would've had Harry Osborne hire/create a version of the Sinister Six to take down Spider Man.

I really like that idea, having Harry pulling the strings behind the scenes to ruin Peter's life, not just by throwing bad guys at him (which would be awesome) but by fracturing his relationship with MJ. Although the latter plot point was in SM3, it was kind of shoehorned in there and didn't really have space to breathe against the black costume.

Plus, I always had this vision of Venom (in what should've been movie 5) busting all the bad guys out of prison for a crazy-ass smackdown.

Near the beginning of the movie, Spidey catches Adrian Toomes in an illicit business deal, which lands him in a jail cell with Flint Marko. Eventually, Marko escapes and what we saw in the movie plays out from there.

After being drowned by Spider-Man in the sewers and rebuilding himself, Marko decides to break Toomes out of jail and use his smarts to help him find a way to get the money he needs for his daughter. Toomes--who had been building a flight suit in jail using spare parts--agrees to help him so that he can get revenge on Spider-Man.

Basically substitute Venom for Vulture, but with a much smaller role. I actually think Venom and the black suit works better for the movie, but that's just me.

^Seems to be messy either way you look at it.

Isn't there already a thread for this in the Spider-Man forums?
