dang...I know you said take this all with a grain of salt, but all things considered it does seem quite believable tbh. which is sad. I think I said it in this thread, but I am all for another big scale multiversal Spider-Man film but I wanted something more grounded first to build up to it. this is disappointing. One of the latest speculation, and rumors from scoopers, involves Spiderman 4 being released between Avengers : Doomsday and Secret Wars .
The speculation is that the film would be taking place on Battleworld, and would no doubt be a multiverse film with Andrew and Tobey.
Apparently, the original Spiderman / Kingpin/ Daredevil street level stuff is being saved for a later Spiderman film post Secret Wars.
Taking all of these rumors with a salt shaker, and speculating , I could actually see this being the case for a few reasons:
* With Marvel shifting focus to finishing out the Multiverse Saga, A street level Daredevil and Kingpin Story in between the two Avengers films is likely untenable
under Marvel's new direction and plans.
* It already dovetails with Sony's desire for a multiverse Spiderman film , and it's a much more natural way to bring Back Tobey and Andrew than the Daredevil story would be.
* At the same time, it opens the door to the appearance of characters like Hardy's Venom and Miles Morales appearing in the film.
* It could potentially resolve the whole issue of the Memory Spell ,with all of these multiverses being condensed into Battleworld , thus this might be a way MJ gets her memories back.
Again , I'm just speculating .
Whether it's a good idea for Spiderman 4 to potentially be a Battleworld film is a different issue .

I would have preferred a street level film myself , but unfortunately, I think the delayed timing for Spiderman 4, meant that the project got caught up in the whole Kang/ Doom/ Multiverse, reorganization stuff.Eh Im not a fan of the idea, especially since it seemed this movie was supposed to be a return to street level stuff. But given the reports about Sony wanting to involve Multiverse stuff, I could see them doing it. Though I'm not exactly sure what this movie would even look like. Basically a patch of Battleworld that's multiple Manahattens connected to each other like the Ultimate End comic? What would the plot of the movie even be and how would that be presented to general audiences in a way that's not confusing lol.
For what it's worth, a few months back Production Weekly listed this movie would be filming in the fall of this year with a tentative release date of July 10, 2026. I know these things change a lot but if they stick to that date, it would be a month after Doomsday comes out. So timing wise I could seem them doing some multiverse related thing. If done right I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world. I was pretty against the ide of No Way Home being a multiverse movie when the casting news started rolling in and I ended up loving it. I guess we'll see what happens.
100% this all boils down to Jonathan Majors messing everything up for everyone. Just last year (or a few months ago, I'm not sure...I'm getting old) the rumor was Sony & Disney were arguing about whether to have a grounded Spider-Man film or an epic scale Spider-Man film.Yeah.
I think it's probably true given the radio silence on the project and lack of updates .
If they, meaning Marvel Studios, decided to reshape alot of stuff , that would explain why we've suddenly stopped hearing about potential directors , casting , etc., even though the talk was heating up earlier this year.

Fast forward to recent announcements of Avengers 5 getting reworked and Tony Stark himself returning as Dr. Doom, you know Disney might also be thinking about the the lowest common denominator to make bank, instead of telling a good, organic story.
Ohhhhhh, man. When I say Disney I also mean Marvel, since the former owns the latter. But I didn't consider that the higher-ups at Disney may not always agree with the creative decisions of Marvel StudiosI've suspected for a while, that Iger and Disney were more likely to be on Sony's side in terms of wanting a bigger , Multiverse, Tobey and Andrew etc, style sequel .
In other words , I think Disney probably agreed with Sony at the end of the day.
If anything , I think Feige and Marvel were probably the odd ones out in terms of wanting a much smaller scale sequel.

There in lies the rub.Ohhhhhh, man. When I say Disney I also mean Marvel, since the former owns the latter. But I didn't consider that the higher-ups at Disney may not always agree with the creative decisions of Marvel Studios
So maybe your suspicions are right, and Sony will get what they want 🤷🏾
"By that logic, do you plan to have Tobey & Andrew back for every Spider-Man movie from here on out? So all future Spider-Man films should just be live action Spider-Verse films as if there is no other way to tell a good story and have it be a success?"There in lies the rub.
I could totally see Iger saying , " Well, why shouldn't we bring back Tobey and Andrew for Spiderman 4? The last film made a billion ".
Of all the things that never got picked up after Amazing Spider-Man 2, not seeing Felicity Jones become Black Cat is one of them. Was nice to at least see Felicia Hardy in the film- though I don't think she's ever referred to by name?- but we were close. I think she definitely had the look.
It was actually cleared up in MCU Reign of Marvel Stuidos book that both Black Cat and Vultress were seperate characters and were going to be in the movie played by Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie respectively. The next time we nearly got her was for Raimi's Spiderman 4 , with Anne Hathaway , ironically, playing Black Cat or Vultress , who was The Vulture's daughter.
She just played Julia Cornwall in Madame Web, so this would be an odd casting choice.Beautiful girl, great figure, but I don't know her work well.
Like others have said, MyTime talks out of both ends.
