KIRSTEN DUNST will return to the SPIDER-MAN franchise with [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]TOBEY [COLOR=blue! important]MAGUIRE[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] and director SAM RAIMI for a fourth outing of the web-slinging superhero, which will be ready for release by 2011.

Dunst, currently in [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]London[/COLOR][/COLOR] for the European premiere of Spider-Man 3, believes the leading stars will reunite at least once more for another project on the comic book hero - despite reports the third installment of the [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]movie[/COLOR][/COLOR] would be the last featuring the current cast.

She says, "I think it might happen if me, Tobey and Raimi are all on board. I think it'll happen. It'll probably be out in four years at the latest."

I hope this hasn't been posted yet, but anyway WOOHOO!

I think she is very good, and plays the role well, but she is like the main voice in the anti more spidey sequels, so I feel like keeping her around may negate more more than just a SM4

Its not... but people are going to make it out to be... just like every other Dunst comment... all it says is that I'd like to be back if the others are back... she just find the tenth way of saying essentially the same thing... and she said 2011 cause she doesn't know the status of where Sony sits on this... let me tell you this... if SONY knew they could sign the cast back... we'd be hyping this sh:t up for 2009... they wouldn't let the actors get that old before making SM4...

Jeez, FOUR more years? Why does it keep taking progressively longer to make these movies?

SM1-SM2 = Two years
SM2-SM3 = Three years
SM3-SM4 = FOUR years

lol. I know. Waiting till 2011 is a big mistake just because of that! Raimi should direct a small film like Simple Plan then come back and have Spidey 4 out by 2009 or early 2010.

4 years is gunna be a bit too much, 2010 if everyone stays, but if they do go a new route 2011 would be fine, especially if they get a new director

My skepticism peaks any time Kirsten Dunst opens her mouth... but if this is true, the reason why they might be waiting until 2011 is so that Sam and everyone else can do something else for a change. They're not drones people, they have their own personal goals just like the rest of us. They've given us 3 awesome Spidey movies... I think they deserve a break.

Oh, and just because Tobey will be pushing 40 doesn't mean he's not fit for the role. He was in his mid-to-late-twenties when the first one came out, and he played a high school-aged Peter Parker. The guy will always look like he's 12.

Also, Harrison Ford is in 60's and he's still doing an Indiana Jones movie, which is very physical as well. Just because someone is nearing 40 doesn't mean they can't do action movies. How old was Willem Dafoe when he did the Green Goblin? 45ish maybe? I don't know.

Is it me or each time they're doing a sequel to a spidey movie they're adding one more year between each to wait for ?

Spiderman = 2002 ==> Spidey 2 = 2004 ==> Spidey 3 = 2007 ==> Spidey 4 =2011 ?

If they're following this logic then

Spiderman 5 = 2016

Spiderman 6 = 2022

Some people are gonna die of this rofl

Yeah, but Peter is only 20 or 21 in Spider-Man 3. So, unless they decide to make him 10 yrs older for Spidey 4 I think waiting for 2011 is a bit too much.

i mean, CGI will get better, believe it or not. they can make things look soo realistic, you can't tel the difference.

Why would they pay Tobey all this money just to play Peter and pay all that money to use CGI on Spiderman standing there in costume?
