Tom was on his dad’s podcast. He didn’t say exactly how much longer Uncharted has to go, but did say that as soon as filming wraps in Barcelona he’s going straight to Atlanta to start filming Spider-Man 3.

So Tobey and Andrew should be signed on for only this, only appearing for five seconds?
Not doing any action parts at all? Just be standing there so that Holland can utter his line?
Not necessarily five seconds per say. More akin to this certain other tease that launched the MCU:

Would be a cool thing to see something similar.

If it was totally unexpected, with none of these rumours going on. Totally a secret thing before release. Then suddenly at the end of the film, Tobey and Andrew show up like this.
"You think you're the only Spider-Man in the multiverse?"

The audience would gasp for air, then go nuts and screaming of excitement.

As Nick Fury did in IM2, both of them need to get a bigger role next time.

EDIT. It could be Nicholas Hammond doing that brief cameo. He can be the Nick Fury of the Spider-verse
After the scene fades out, we see shorts clips from Raimiverse and ASM-verse, followed by a "To be continued..."

Yea he mentioned that in his dad’s podcast, that he might not make it home again until March.

If it is between Spider-man 3 being the multiverse vs the next film after that being Spider-verse, i really think it will be Spider-man 3. i could be totally wrong, but for them to be setting up a 4th per say would require Sony to be 100% committed, and i ain't too sure Sony are very good at committing and having a plan.

You do realize that Feige is in control of the creative stuff, right? If he wants to build up to Spider-Verse instead of rushing everything into SM3, I'm sure he and Sony can reach an agreement (if that is indeed the case) or he can persuade them.

I think Sony and Marvel are much more in bed at this point than we know. Given what we have heard about future projects, Vulture in Morbius, etc. I think this will not be the last Sony/Marvel Studios film. I would stake money on it

Isn't their current contact one more movie and 1 marvel crossover? so basically one for Sony and one for marvel. where would Spiderverse come into this? i don't buy Sony could commit, and i also don't buy that Feige would be that confident or that making the 3rd movie into a big event isn't out of the question for him.

I very much doubt Marvel had any say with Morbius. my guess is that part of the deal they made with marvel is that Sony could use these characters for their own movies too. and they may not even have to talk to Marvel first.

As far as we are aware, yes that is the current deal. But we also have things like Olivia Wilde hinting Marvel Studios may be involved in Spider-Woman. We have Vulture in Morbius. JK Simmons we know is gonna be in other projects. Etc

This tells me that there is a long term future here.

There will probably be a much smaller future here for marvel and sony than you think. although with Marvels way of doing things, i could very well see at the very least a deal for Marvel to pass the torch to Spiderwomen in the MCU and letting Sony play with Spider-man. which am sure Sony would be more than happy with. its very much the marvel thing right now. Female thor, she hulk, hawkeyes trainee.

Spider-Man is the holy grail of Marvel heroes. They know that. Disney has every incentive to keep this going. They make money off the merch. Spider-Man merch during the TASM series plummeted. They know the brand needs to be strong to maximize sales. All the evidence points to a long future, IMO

Spider-Man is the holy grail of Marvel heroes.

Iron man was one of the studios biggest earning characters... they killed him off. so don't put anything past Marvel. not to say that they will kill Spider-man... but they don't need to kill him to keep earning money from his use. although i doubt Sony would let them anyway.

Marvel are certainly willing to move on. they have made that very clear. they ain't hanging on as tight as you might think. and would they play with Spiderwomen instead of Spider-man? i think like the other male to female heroes getting the treatment they probably would like to think they could carry and succeed a spiderwomen franchise. just from a gimmicky political standpoint.

Holland would have appeared in 6 movies by the time the 3rd is out. and probably 7 once he gets his marvel crossover movie that they are owed. thats still alot of MCU movies.

I think its lucky that even 2 more MCU movies are happening right now with Spider-man. although i would like to know all the in's and out's of the new deal they come to agree on.

How does moving to Spider-Woman change anything? She is in the Spider-Man rights also, so it is the same deal. That transition makes zero sense in your scenario. It makes more sense that if they are involved in that as well, that the agreement is going further than we knew

Its marvel taking less and making it more. while also keeping a connection to Spider-man. while Sony can have their big name to play with in things like crossing over with Morbius and Venom.

There was a reason why the deal fell through last year. sure they came to an agreement for 2 more movies. which is less than they agreed to for their first deal. so they already played cautious by keeping it minimal. and while it isn't out of the question they could make a 3rd deal, i think it would be wrong to assume there wouldn't be some uncertainty.

A question to EVERYBODY.

Could more previous Spider-Men than Andrew and Tobey show up in an upcoming multiverse-based film?

I'm curious what the title will be, and if there'll be another variation that has 'Home' in it.

We are going to agree to disagree here. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if the entire thing was a publicity stunt in the end. I certainly think that is more likely than Holland changing Bob Iger's mind by calling him.

Haven't you seen their names popping up in the thread? Maybe you did but didn't know why they were brought up at all?

Nicholas Hammond and Shinji Todō
Those two aren't really in the public consciousness. The Toho Spider-Man has been heavily hinted at for Spiderverse 2. If he were to appear it be there, unless it's a very brief cameo.

Ok, so if/when Vulture comes back as part of the Sinister Six, what motivation should they give him to want to kill Spidey without ruining his character? I think the best way to do it is for him to be blackmailed, maybe the rest of the team threatens his family if he refuses?

I thought the ending of the first movie was fairly ambiguous. It wasn't clear to me whether he no longer cared about revenge against Spider-Man or if he wanted that revenge to just be for himself and didn't want to share it with anyone else. Regardless, his motivations for keeping Peter Parker's identity a secret are moot now.
