So Im assuming the trailer will drop free from any events similar to the Godzilla vs Kong trailer at this point atleast.

It's clear this film can stand on its own it terms of hype. Even without the rumors thanks to the star studded cast and MCU drought of 2020.

I'm not seeing the first trailer being released until May at the very earliest, and even that's a bit of a stretch. Still think the marketing will start to pick up gradually once Wandavision ends though.

How soon after HoCo and FFH wrapped did we get trailers? I know the one for FFH was delayed, but only by a month.

I don't doubt that any future adaptation of Green Goblin would not be a direct translation of his 616 comic counterpart, but I still hope they stick close enough to the source material.

I think Raimi was on the right track at least with the scrapped version of the goblin mask they tried. Though for me the ears were far too big and I'm not a big fan of the headsock, both of which made it look more goofy than it needed to be.

I have no interest in seeing a god awful ultimate Green Goblin version. He's not the hulk and shouldn't physically transform.

How soon before we atleast get an official cast listing and movie title?

I don't think we'll get an official cast listing for a looong while. The title could be revealed as soon as June, but that too is up in the air at this point.

They also likely don't want to overshadow their other projects right now. WandaVision has a few more episodes to go, Black Widow has still been delayed and they've just released a new trailer for Falcon and Winter Soldier.

Mid summer is when info about this will come out—assuming it keeps its 2020 release date. Im sure there will be tidbits and rumors leaking beforehand but we’re jot gonna get really meaty info about this movie until mid summer.

I know your supposed to cherish the present. But I literally cannot wait for this film in specific.

To me this feels like it's shaping up to be the first Spider-Man movie since, well, Spider-Man 3 to really feel like an "event". TASM movies were a whimper. The two MCU ones felt like "just another one" in the background, over-shadowed by The Avengers, which were the event films.

This seems to be really be going something different and ambitious, so the hype and buzz are already building. I think by release time it can definitely be the biggest title of the year imo.

I could see another delay. Especially since Sony doesn't have a service they could potentially put this on. Unless they're fine with just putting it out in theaters and it making maybe less than a fraction of what it would've made in the before times.

Yeah I think this and Venom 2 will be definitely be delayed to 2022. Morbius was scheduled to come out earlier but moved to 2022.

Unless new movies miraculously performed well in the summer of 2021. I don't see how Sony would stick to the December date especially this movie is still filming and in covid time, they probably need more than a year to work on the vfX.

This is def not a movie i could ever see Sony wanting to VOD. This HAS to be shown in theater.

Sure, a lot of movies would probably like to be shown in theaters. A global pandemic doesn't necessarily guarantee that. Since Sony doesn't have a streaming platform, they can't do a hybrid release.

So it's just push it back or put it in theaters with its current date and have it, like every other movie coming out in theaters this year, make little money.

The only downside would be more endless speculation until the end of the year when we'd finally get a title reveal and the first trailer. Not sure if I can endure that. :funny:

Which is why I think it will most likely be Homeworlds because it's a spoiler in and of itself. Hopefully. Otherwise, maybe Homeless since it would thematically fit.
