I feel like sometimes we make too much of Tom Holland having these loose lips where he can't hide anything. When's the last time he actually spoiled anything? It's been years ago.

I agree. I actually think Mark Ruffalo has been a far worse offender, what with him saying that "everyone dies" in IW and then accidentally livestreaming the first 20 minutes of Ragnarok.

I also wouldn't be shocked if they were actually somehow keeping it from him :funny:

Blows my mind people just are out there taking it at face value saying "well that settles that!" There's too much other weird stuff going on for me to just close the book and take him saying the PR answer he has to say as the definitive truth, I dunno.

I've seen a few of those on Twitter today:hehe:

You'd think his publicist would start requesting that question not to be asked, so my conspiracy is Marvel/Sony want it to be brought up because everytime it does it brings publicity to the film as it makes headlines and causes a ton of buzz and discussion on social media.

Better to lower your expectations severely than have them be unreachable. And with lowered expectations you win either way: you either don't be surprised that the movie is just about the identity crisis with some multiverse sprinkles here and there, thus no needless disappointment, or you get hyped back up because they were just keeping everything so close to the chest.

Don't blame you guys for being skeptical. Always good to temper expectations.

I still think that they are in this but I always assumed it would be in a limited capacity. Basically, being saved for the climax.

(This is still Holland's film.)

Keep the faith guys!

Jamie Foxx literally confirmed that he was going to be in the movie in his now-infamous deleted Instagram post. That is not up to debate.
Do you mean that Instagram post with a picture of all three Spider-Men?

My gut says he's lying too. But there are valid arguments for each scenario, so we'll see.

Jamie Foxx said he was involved on Instagram. then he took the post down and in a more recent interview denied he was involved. but you could tell he was probably lying.

I don't think anyone beyond the returning cast of MCU spider-man are officially confirmed yet.

If they're in it he can't say they are and if he plays coy again it just makes it look even more suspicious so the best bet is to just say they're not in it, of course it could be absolutely true or it could just be the elegant way to throw people off the trail lol.

Totally understand people lowering their expectations, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However when I look at all the evidence and everything we know about this film it tells me that they are involved in the film. It’s just a matter of how big their role actually is.

It’s really just a waiting game at this point. Hopefully we start getting some real solid information on this film soon.

Reminds me of the venom sm3 days where we weren’t sure in what capacity he’d be in the film or if he’d show up at all. Since the first poster people speculated and the cast and crew danced around the subject. This is no different.

At this point the chances of Maguire and Garfield appearing are 50/50 imo. Molina and Foxx definitely are.

They’re in guys. Lets all relax. Sony isnt stupid. If there literally was no truth to these rumors they wouldve squashed it back in the Fall. They know people know about Tobey and Andrew and theyre using it to fuel hype.

Also, Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx are in the movie. You dont bring their villains into this universe without bringing them too. The fans would be massively disappointed. Theyre in the movie guys, its now just a question of HOW MUCH theyre in the movie. Theres just too much evidence pointing that way.

In due time my friends. All will be revealed.

Although, heh, could you imagine if they really werent in this and Sony let everyone believe they were up until the film’s release? The fanboy outrage would be of epic proportions. :funny:

Alot of times studios and the actors lie because they know at least a sizable portion of fans will just take their word for it , the same way a sizable portion of fans believed that Affleck would be in The Batman because he said he would, believable Marion was not going to be Talia because she denied it on camera, Believed Snyder when he said it was just a rumor that Zod would be the villain of MOS, and believed Sony when they denied that they were going to enter into a deal with Marvel back in 2015. And those are just a few examples.

Anything is possible, and there's a possibility that Holland is telling the truth after being coy for so long.

At the same time though, you can't always rely on actors or directors showing all there cards and telling you the 100 percent truth when it comes to story elements for a big tentpole film like this.

He originally said "half" stopped midway and then said everyone lol.

One of the biggest letdowns in comic book movie history. Which it definitely will be for a lot of folks.

Lol what are they gonna do if one of these trades actually do confirm that Tobey or Andrew are in the film? Start dodging the questions?

Collider reported that both of them are returning alongside Kirsten Dunst, and to my knowledge they're reliable.

It is beyond obvious that:

A. They are in the movie
B. Marvel wants it to keep it a big surprise for the movie

and

C. Marvel also wants to drag out the mystery of whether they're in or not as part of the hype. And possibly prevent hype from getting out of control if they're very small roles.

There's no way they'd be doing all this multiverse stuff and then not pay it off in the most crowd-pleasing way possible.

It's just a shame that I have so little invested in Tom Holland's Iron Man Jr. that my biggest interest in this film is seeing Tobey again. But I'm confident he'll be there, even if it's just a 3rd act thing.

I mean the fact that Molina's Doc Ock is returning is enough to get me hyped about this film.

Same. Based on people's comments in here, I know I'm in the minority on this one, I could care less about Tobey and Andrew returning but Molina? He's got my attention lol :hyper:

The return of the best Spidey film villain ever is enough for me. Foxx's Electro also being in this makes me excited, it'll be interesting to see in what direction they decide to take him.

I've always been more interested in the villains than in Spidey himself tbh.
