I don't think it was ever in question that Alfred Molina being back is certainly an aspect to be excited about.

Same. Based on people's comments in here, I know I'm in the minority on this one, I could care less about Tobey and Andrew returning but Molina? He's got my attention lol :hyper:
Hop in the MCU subreddit and you'll see that's actually what the majority thinks.

I'm still not entirely convinced that Maguire and Garfield aren't in the film. Holland's learned his lesson about blabbing spoilers, so it makes sense that he'd do the exact opposite of that and deny the rumors.

That's the thing I don't entirely understand, setting aside the rumors of if it's gonna happen here or not I've seen so many people who get up in arms with the mention of the idea at all in lots of other places of the internet. Like, I get if some are concerned because they don't want to take away from Tom's Spidey since it's his third solo movie but if it were to happen here I imagine they're aware of that/ would be careful and it would still be his movie lol. I just don't get why some people wouldn't wanna see this happen at some point at least, I just like Spider-Man and seeing em all together would be a joy. Not much else to it lmao.

And even if Tobey and Andrew aren't in this, as disappointing as that would be, it wouldn't automatically make the film any less ambitious or exciting. We barely know anything about this movie, and we might not even see it until the middle of next year, so let's not rush to judgement.

I think because alot of fans had it set in their minds what SM3 was going to be until rumors came out that Maguire and Garfield would make an appearance ,and that it would be a multiverse film . I think the idea that the film could be going in a direction that they didn't count on has thrown alot of fans for a loop, because it may not play out the way they've predetermined it to play out.

I also tend think it's probably generational in that sense that, you have alot of younger fans for whom the idea of Maguire and Garfield really doesn't resonate, while its an exciting idea for older fans who grew up with them as their Spiderman and to the General Audience as a whole who consider Tobey's Spiderman iconic.

So, I tend to think the "we don't want Garfield and Maguire" is the majority opinion among a younger cohort of fanboys, but the minority opinion overall with fandom in general ,and certainly the minority opinion in comparison to the general audience. That is to say, The GA wouldn't be against Maguire and Garfield coming back as the younger fans seem to be.

Now, the "we don't want Tobey and Andrew" view is a different issue from believing whether or not they're in the film. Then again, I suppose if you don't want them to be in the film ,you may be more likely to believe or want to believe they're not in the film, and visa- versa.

I guess, to extrapolate on my stance on this movie...I never wanted the other Spideys to return or for this movie to deal with anything with the multiverse. I grew up loving the Raimi trilogy and I joined this site back in the day because of those movies. But Tobey potentially being in this movie was never a selling point to me. If anything it made me more apprehensive about this movie.

However, I have sorta came to fact that yea they are probably are in it (to some degree) and I'm fine with that. Ultimately I trust for Feige and co to come up with a good story and reasoning for them there.

Also the same fans who think them being included should only be relegated to barely a minute of screentime and expecting that to be in any way a good idea and satisfying enough for everyone to react positively to it. And that's not even addressing the unlikely possibility of them popping up in an end credits scene to set up an actual live-action Spider-Verse movie.

There is literally a guy on the MCU subreddit I replied to a while back who suggested that they should show up in a montage only to get killed by a multiverse Kraven who's been hunting down Spider-Men in every dimension. I am so glad none of these people are making creative decisions at Marvel Studios because good god are they non-pleasing.

It's perfectly fine to not like the idea and be against it, but be respectful enough to be happy for the people who have wanted this to happen for so long. I've barely seen similar behavior on Reddit and certain corners of Twitter, where folks just passive-aggressively state Daredevil popping up in SM3 would be miles better than Spider-Verse which they then proceed to not so subtly crap on and state that they'd relish people's potential disappointment of that concept not happening when the movie comes out.

The latter I just cannot comprehend other than people acting like pricks for the heck of it.

Oh I 100% agree with you there. Despite my feelings, I don't want to poo poo on other people's hype for this, just like I wouldn't want others to be debbie downers on something I would be looking forward to,

Im excited for this movie in two aspects. One is that if the Tobey and Andrew and Tom dont meet here. They most certainly will in another film with the setup seeming to be in that direction.

Either that or ItSV2 in another year.

And if it is a film with spider-Men. Then we'll easily have(lets be honest) one of the most entertaining and memorable spider-films to date.

I honestly still have no doubt they're in it and I think they want to keep it a surprise for whenever they decide to reveal it.

I guess the bright side to Andrew and Toby possibly not being in this is the possibility of us eventually getting a live action Spider-Verse directed by someone other than Watts.

Well marvel is good at keeping secrets. They didn’t show Spider-Man in the trailers for civil war til they were ready to show him. They also never leaked the design

Remember when Suicide Squad was going through 2-months of reshoots and Ayer said that he was adding just few bits of action and fanboys believed him because well ugh he said it. LOL.

Or when Trank and Kinberg gave exclusives to Collider and claimed they're only doing pick-ups for Fantastic 4 while in reality Kinberg reshot 70% of the movie.

The things is fans will always see whatever they want to see.

My prediction: Tobey and Garfield are in the movie. Tobey has a fine role and maybe we'll see him again in the future, Garfield has a cameo, basically.

Indeed. Not minding them for the animated movie, but seeing them live-action will be epic.

Tom Holland also said you need to give me $100 each. and he said it so you know its true. I do allow monthly installments btw.

I think this will be the spiderverse movie. Bit like with Ragnarok and planet hulk. it will just be mixed with another plotline. And if it turned out there was more than 3 spideys i wouldn't be shocked either.

Well, the identity crisis plotline from FFH's cliffhanger will also play an important part in this movie, so I think it's a certainty that it and the multiverse stuff (whatever extent it will be, currently not expecting a whole lot) will be interlinked.

I have heard some speculation that Wandavision, Spider-man 3, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Loki and Dr Strange may all have Multiverse elements in them. Marvel seem to be using and reactivating several other twitter accounts like "the Gifted" (FOX show) and "Inhumans", the latter was deactivated till recently, to promote their Wandavision and Falcon & Winter Soldier shows. some are wondering whether thats a sign of some connection there.

The Legion show page hasn't been touched, so i guess they ain't interested in that one.

Its interesting to see where all this is going.

Hmm, well even Feige confirmed that WandaVision, Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2 are multiverse movies, kind of. Loki is confirmed that he visites multiple and different timelines.
I doubt Falcom and Winter Soldier has anything to do with multiverse. Considering the two main characters and the show basically being a CIVIL WAR spin-off.

It depends when Falcom and Winter Soldier is set. i suspect the MCU itself is to change after Wandavision. at least untill Dr Strange 2.

Well, yeah. I do believe that it will be "changed" and some multiverse stuff are happening. But I just don't see Falcon and Winter Soldier dealing with the topic like the other projects. Most likely a mentioning or something.

You never know. they don't really have to deal with it if they are not aware they are involved in it.

If multiverse characters show up and become part it. they don't even need to acknowledge something is out of place.

Admittedly im still going by the idea that no one in the MCU or multiverse will be even aware that anything has changed. everything is just normal. and that only the audience will even notice.

For example i don't think Spider-man 3 will suddenly have a news broadcast talking about people from other universes turning up.
