Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Something I've been trying to sync up all week but someone has done it much better than I ever could.....:spidey:

Brilliant. I should do this!! Elfman’s score is better than anyone else’s marvel score. Including he Giacchiano one

:funny: dude i really hope that's all it is! I can't wait to find out. Honestly i don't remember what i did, i just remember i played my own game of water is lava. So that may have been what it ultimately resulted in.

I tried doing it from a 'perched' position but not 'in the air', as such, will try later today. I'll let you know how you did it. ;):funny:

Just completed the main story, the Ock battle was visually awesome and would look great in a movie, but he was the easiest boss in the game, I beat him on my first try.

That ending. :csad:

Things are set up nice for a sequel with
Norman's Goblin tech already in development, Pete and MJ together and the surprise at the end that Harry isn't sick, he's got the Symbiote attached to him.

I hope Silver Sable returns for the sequel and is a playable character, I loved this reimagining of the character, even though the mission fighting her mercs outside of Oscorp near the end was one of the most frustrating in the game. :wall:

The MJ and Miles missions reminded me of the stealth sections in the Hulk game that came out alongisde the Ang Lee Hulk movie, obviously in the next game
Miles will will be able to do a LOT more lol.

Aiming to complete the story this week, probably wed/thurs at this rate. (I hope :funny:)

As frustrating as the drone challenges were, they were that much more satisfying to achieve gold on them. I sort of took what i learned playing street fighter iv's combo trial challenge. You disect the whole track in sections, like how it's hard to remember 5554740907, but if you go, (555) 474 - (then) 0907, it's so much easier. Master/memorize the blue orbs in sections. Plus the more you fail, the more you memorize the track in repetition. Same can be said for the stealth ones too. Figure out the route, then just connect the dots with web-strikes (triangle button). The more you fail, the more you start to memorize. Progression.

As for the other 2, bringing spider-bro to combat made things super easy, mix in with spider-drones, it's a cakewalk each time. If that still doesn't work, equip him with all the perks that favor spider-bro, gadget refills, and even maybe focus meter for finishers.

The bomb ones, you just have to use perch into perfect launch as much as youre able to. Holding L2 is your friend, and aiming to perch right on to the bombs themselves also saves valuable time.

I see a lot of complaints about how hard the drone challenges are. I got silver on my first tries on all. You guys must not be Spidey swinging experts. :p

So the Raft is partially explorable if you get past the invisible boundry around Manhattan, found some perch points that put me on top of invisible objects so it looks like Spidey is just floating on thin air.

Finally completed Act 1. Loving the story thus far...things are really starting to heat up. Both the Fisk mission--taking down the helicopter and then the City Hall missions were great. First time playing as Miles was ok I guess. I'm enjoying what they're doing with him as a character in this--the emotional impact is well done. I can see where this is headed though, having a connection to Peter in terms of loss, I can see how a mentor relationship is being set up. And there will probably be some point where Miles gets powers. Not caring for that at all.

Btw, the trip mine is now my favorite gadget. Seeing two enemies get slammed together is so satisfying and entertaining.

Just finished the story... but still only at 82% completion.

Overall, it's a dynamic, innovative (in places), and fully polished love letter to the mythos of Spider-Man. Insomniac should be commended for delivering a rousing storyline, and excellent gameplay mechanics that always feel true to the essence and history of the character.

However, unlike most, this isn't my favourite interpretation of the Spider-Man world nor do I think it's the best superhero game I've played. It feels like they simply took what others established in the past and perfected or refined them (Nothing wrong with that - it just didn't feel like a complete breath of fresh air). The side missions are mostly boring and often repetitive and some of the boss battles were highly underwhelming.

Comparing this with it's greatest competitor, the Arkham series, it just falls a little short for me. Insomiac told a better story than anything in the Arkham games, but I guess I'm just a bigger Batman than Spidey fan so I got more enjoyment from them.

That being said, everyone should be playing this game... it's the best the character has ever received and I'm certainly eager to see more.

Combing Octavius Industries lab after you've completed the main story is very interesting.
Peter discovers stuff Ock was working on secretly for the other members of the Six, a voice recording of Ock, and perhaps my favorite is the white board where Ock changed the vision statement of his company;

Can people either stop revealing stuff WITHOUT spoilers or put stuff in spoilers please. 1) Not all of have finished or completed yet and 2) You are ruining any element of surprise there left in the game's conclusion. Thank you if from here on in that can be adhered too.

That thing is amazing. What I love to do is wait for two thugs to be lined up. I zip to the first one, slide through his legs, attach the trip mine to his back, then dodge jump over the second thug that is behind me. And then I watch them slam together. :3

I spoiler tagged what I said. But I don't know why you wanted it in spoilers because it doesn't reveal anything about the game's conclusion, surprises or otherwise.

That's exactly the move that I do, lol. It's so great.

Not sure if you've tried this move...but launch an enemy into the air, shoot him with the trip mine and he'll either get slammed to the ground or slam into another enemy on the ground. First time I saw that I literally lol'd.

Not on the immediate post you didn't, you may have gone back and spoiler tagged it afterwards but initial post had the board and details un-spoilers.

The move where you can web-zip in between in water towers, I discovered it by accident, so satisfying.

You can do that through metal tubes too (one of the drone challenges was set up for this), and also what I didn't know was the rectangular gaps between ducts on rooftops.

I've completed Act 1. Without spoiling anything, how close or how much more do I need to complete until I unlock the challenges?

I'm anxious to start earning those tokens so I can upgrade my gadgets :)

Taking pics in places the game didn't exactly intend for me to go to. I'm even more adamant that the next game needs to add Queens and/or Brooklyn, Manhattan island is beautiful and it's a shame that we have to break the game to see it from a distance. It'd be great to see it in the background while swinging around Queens, and the bridges really should be something we can fully traverse, it was a shame that I couldn't take a pic from the top of the Brooklyn bridge because the top of it just isn't a space you can physically stand on unfortunately.

Well I got an ultimate rating on several stealth challenges and finally have enough tokens to unlock the rest of the suits I have.

I need 39 tokens, I have 40. Barely made it!

I think it's that Harry is in fact sick and the experimental treatment he talked about in his diary involved exposing him to the symbiote

Yes, I went back and spoiler tagged it because of your post. What I don't understand is why you wanted spoiler tags on it because there is nothing in it that spoils anything about the ending. Which was your complaint in the first place.

The third DLC expansion pack being released in December for the game is called "Silver Lining". We don't really know anything about it yet, but based on the title alone I think Silver Sable might be returning sooner than you think.
