Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Do you guys think there would be more mission dlcs in 2019? I recently bought a handful of videogames this week, but not this one as I'm waiting for an edition that includes all dlcs (and I guess a price cut though I can buy it in its original price if I know there won't be dlcs and another edition).

Yes, I went back and spoiler tagged it because of your post. What I don't understand is why you wanted spoiler tags on it because there is nothing in it that spoils anything about the ending. Which was your complaint in the first place.

Err...okay, if you think that, that's fine and nothing's been ruined in your play of the game then that's all good, I'm pleased.

I think it's that Harry is in fact sick and the experimental treatment he talked about in his diary involved exposing him to the symbiote

Theory on symbiote:

I'm wondering if the symbiote will be in there healing Harry, meant to feed on his disease, but feeds on much more, Harry's face & body disfigured, goblin like, it makes him crazy & strong, he then breaks out as Peter sneaks in based on MJ's intel, but somehow maybe in a fight, the symbiote attaches to Peter. Peter goes to sleep exhausted, gtav-like drunk dream sequence :-)funny:) wakes up with black-suit.

At the end, during their fight, Suit slightly takes over & Pete gets carried away and "kills" Harry. Pete distraught over "killing" his friend, desperately tries to rid of suit, learns of its sensitivity to high frequencies from the fight vs Harry Goblin (vs Harry's weapons maybe). Eddie Brock who has been stalking them for the Bugle this whole time, ends up being next host. (Not sure about revenge motive) Playable Eddie Brock perspective with Spider-Man vs Harry Goblin going on in the background.

Ending set up to next game, Norman vengeful vs Spidey for killing his son, injects himself, puts on the suit based on the prototypes we saw in 1st game, knowing the injection will difigure then eventually kill him, but wants to kill Spider-man before he himself dies. Maybe.

I just can't stoping the red and black suit now. I tried switching over to the Homecoming suit and couldn't stick with it. The black suit is so tactical and menacing.

Perfect look for an "evil" Spider-Man.

That makes a lot of sense.

The third DLC expansion pack being released in December for the game is called "Silver Lining". We don't really know anything about it yet, but based on the title alone I think Silver Sable might be returning sooner than you think.
Interesting, you think she might be playable in it?

I wonder if we could see some flashback missions in the next game.
They could be a good parallel to seeing Miles learning how to use his powers to see some glimpses of Peter's first year or so, would also be a good way to introduce and develop Harry Osborn, since he'll no doubt be playing a much larger role in the next game, since it seems he could possibly be this universe's version of Venom. And on a more selfish front, I want Queens in the next game, and flashback missions would be all the excuse you could need to add it. Would also be fun to see Insomniac's take on Peter's first Spidey costume.

Just finished the story... but still only at 82% completion.

Overall, it's a dynamic, innovative (in places), and fully polished love letter to the mythos of Spider-Man. Insomniac should be commended for delivering a rousing storyline, and excellent gameplay mechanics that always feel true to the essence and history of the character.

However, unlike most, this isn't my favourite interpretation of the Spider-Man world nor do I think it's the best superhero game I've played. It feels like they simply took what others established in the past and perfected or refined them (Nothing wrong with that - it just didn't feel like a complete breath of fresh air). The side missions are mostly boring and often repetitive and some of the boss battles were highly underwhelming.

Comparing this with it's greatest competitor, the Arkham series, it just falls a little short for me. Insomiac told a better story than anything in the Arkham games, but I guess I'm just a bigger Batman than Spidey fan so I got more enjoyment from them.

That being said, everyone should be playing this game... it's the best the character has ever received and I'm certainly eager to see more.

Loved the game I think the sequel will be a lot better though having beaten it last night still need to go back and do side missions now did almost none. After having beaten the game I can say batman Arkham city, knight and origins are all better games though. That is not a bad thing though has those 3 games are all in my top like 10 favorite games of all time. I dont think this is even my favorite insomniac game. I would say Ratchet and clank crack in time and Ratchet and clank going commando are both better games. The combat is great but at the same time there needs to be more like finish focus moves instead of just the one and over all there needs to be a few more moves that you can do.

The Arkham games had riddle's and while I know some people didn't care for the riddles in the akrham games I loved them they added a lot of replay value and were heck of fun. Also challenge maps so much fun in the Arkham games. There are a lot of things that remind me of the Arkham games in this game though and there are some things I like better such has the fact the city is much more active than any of the Arkham games. With that said though its great to have a great spiderman game again and I will do think insominaic will bulid of this and make a sequel a lot better like they did with ratchet and clank years and years ago. If you play the very first ratchet game and than play the 2nd one it was a pretty big jump. While I love the Arkham games aslyum is easily not has good has the other ones and I think we could be looking at something similar to that with insominaic and spiderman and while I need to play more I think I may like this game more than aslyum and that is like around a top 25 all time game for me so its already of to a great start.

I've played the 1st R&C and 1 more both on PS2. Playing Fallout 4 for the longest time prevented me from all of the ones on my list... also forgot gtav:woo: . That's probably why I've prioritized my playing order almost by game length (Uncharted was bumped up though, because I'm a big fan of the series). Horizon is the longest out of all of them.

You need to play a lot more ratchet than if you have only played 2 and get going on Horizon its great. I have a big backlog of games my self so no big deal lol.

I've also got a huge backlog, I'm kinda happy about that though, means that come next console gen I'll still be catching up on this gen so I won't be in a huge hurry to get the next console.

I will most likely steal get a system once ps5 comes out but I dont think I am ever not going to have a backlog inless I will the loto and can just retire. Just so many games and not enough time and I love love sports so a lot of my free time is used watching sports. Watching NFL right now.

I really wonder what the dlc's are going to be like. I known we are getting 3 new suits with each one and also a villain and that it is a story but like how long are they going to be? Like a hour, 2? Will they also had any new gadgets? Would be awesome if it was like Horizon level of DLC. That game only had 1 DLC that was like 20 but man it was a great one. Was like 10 hours + side stuff.

Taking pics in places the game didn't exactly intend for me to go to. I'm even more adamant that the next game needs to add Queens and/or Brooklyn, Manhattan island is beautiful and it's a shame that we have to break the game to see it from a distance. It'd be great to see it in the background while swinging around Queens, and the bridges really should be something we can fully traverse, it was a shame that I couldn't take a pic from the top of the Brooklyn bridge because the top of it just isn't a space you can physically stand on unfortunately.

What do you mean break the game? Is there a way to go outside Manhattan?

Yes, there's an invisible barrier around Manhattan island that prevents you from even reaching the first arches on the bridges off the island. you can get past it somewhat easily by charge jumping off the top of Freedom tower towards the water and doing the forward role stunt, might take a few try's, sometimes waiting a few seconds before starting the role helps, but sooner or later you'll glitch over to the other side of the barrier, which will now prevent you from getting to the island rather than off it. traversing the water is a bit of a process since you can't swing or zip by conventional means, but with patience it does allow for some cool screenshot opportunities.

Same here. I want to know if new characters like Black Cat would be playable. Silver Sable would probably be too much of a gameplay change, but Taskmaster copying your moves, that would be an easy dlc character, although not very exciting. Just add bow/arrow & sword action in the mix, but limited webswinging with grappling hook.

I've already accepted the fate of the Black suit, but still hoping for Superior suit, Future Foundation (black moving lenses), and Bag-man. Suit powers are probably a given. What I'm really hoping for though, is that we are given way more open world activities than random thug crimes, and get more DLCs after these 3.

Given that
Harry clearly has the symbiote on him in the post-credit scene, I am wondering if the next game is Peter getting it put on him and the black suit will be a major suit for the next game, which is why it wasn't available in this game.

Is it just me, or is the 'web pull' move in combat pretty much useless? It only pulls enemies a couple feet, and just slows me down in the middle of a fight. I hope they modify it in the next game so that it can pull enemies a larger distance.

Well, when you've got it upgraded, it's more used for pulling weapons away or spinning around goons that have been webbed up. By itself, it's pretty much useless.

Just have to say I really liked MR's negative in this game never heard of him before this game and I known he is a much lesser known villain and much newer. But the way he was used in this game was so good.

Right, but couldn't it at least pull enemies onto the ground or bring them closer to you? I occasionally use it by accident and all it does is make me vulnerable to other enemies.

Mr Negative was great until they revealed his origin. He was my favorite boss fight and the true antagonist of the game. Insomniac wasted the opportunity to have him temporarily corrupt Spider-man. That should have been how you unlock the negative suit.

Here's a question, why did they remove Mr Negative from the helicopter sequence?

Seemed to be a simple change in story structure. They wanted Peter to discover Martin Li is Mr. Negative at a later point in time, so he got replaced by a random Demon goon.

That's what I assumed, but immediately after that Parker sees Li in his Mr Negative form, so it makes no difference. Removing Li made the whole thing less dramatic, but they still kept Spidey's surprised expression as though a revelation took place. Seemed a bit sloppily edited, and probably not necessary.

It's actually the opposite. In the era of trailers & reactions, they edited in Martin Li to show off that sequence + the new villain in 1 package just for E3.

:funny: dude i really hope that's all it is! I can't wait to find out. Honestly i don't remember what i did, i just remember i played my own game of water is lava. So that may have been what it ultimately resulted in.

What was suggested was exactly how to overcome it. Thanks. Break out the bunting, in amongst all the years of rogue gallery, it was an ecological fish disaster that was causing me grief. That's so me with games.

Started Act III last night. I didn't expect THAT to happen. Goddamn the ride just doesn't end.

I wouldn't call it useless entirely but it is limiting. And I can understand how it is annoying to run into those limits, there are others in the combat mechanics, but I also like what Insomniac has done. You have to constantly be thinking about your next move...you can't just 'button mash' your way thru combat.
