I have an idea for the plot to one of the sequels, perhaps not spidey 4 but a spidey film further down the line at some point.
Spidey messes with the business of a big time crime lord (not kingpin coz that is daredevil teritory) like silvermane or the rose or something.
They put an incredibly large bounty (in the billions of dollars maybe) on spidey.
The world`s greatest bounty hunters turn up to hunt spidey.
You have a couple of loser hotshots who spidey shakes off with ease but you have spidey finds himself in a real fix when he runs into the shocker, the beetle, the rhino and kraven.
No matter where he goes he runs into them and as the story progresses beetle and shocker even decide to split the nmoney between them and pool their talents.
Now that gives a reasonable excuse for kraven to be introduced and allows us to see shocker, the beetle and rhino in action. Lets face it shocker would seem to much like electro for a solo appearance. Beetle is not interesting enough and rhino is essentially henchman fodder most of the time anyway. So this bounty on spidey plot makes sense as a vehicle to show off some of the interesting villains who will be unlikely to appear in a spidey film as the main boss.
I am by no means setting these four characters as the ones that must be in it. Speed demon, puma, quicksand or any of the other second tiers could work. Its simply that if kraven is not in spidey four to hunt the lizard then it is difficult for him to have a compelling reason to come to new york. Shocker and rhino are fan faves who have little chance of appearing as villains otherwise.
And beetle is a personal fave of mine and his inclusion means that spidey is hounded even more. If you only have kraven, shocker and rhino then immediatly spidey jumps clear into the air then he is safe for a while. Beetle is not as good a flyer as the vulture but he is good enough to make so that even the skies are not safe for spidey to flee to.
For the finale i would like personally love to see a fight in an empty building/warehouse/factory between beetle/kraven/rhino/shocker and spidey while silvermane/the rose looks on with a mass of armed goons. Spidey manages to even the score by knocking rhino out and by rewiring beetle`s fliught controls so that it is on full thrust but without beetle being able to control it. So you would have basically the bullet proof, impervious armored beetle unintentionally thinning out silvermane/the rose`s ranks of armed goons by bouncing around inside the place at high speed.
IN the final fight it is spidey versus kraven. And then when the police turn up they arrest a very dizzy beetle. lol.
