do you mean because of the art style or just in general? i think it's a really stupid costume but the art style makes it look soooo awesome.
in general. I never got the great love for the 2099 look. Ive always thought it was a pretty bad design

This game just doesn't look very good. Keep trying Activision, you'll get there some day :(

Yes yes yes! Spider-Man 2099 looks fantastic, he's my favorite alternate Spidey so I'm looking forward to that.

Oscorp and Alchemax buildings in the background in the one pic.

Anyone else notice Hulk in the background?

That's odd.

It looks like a holographic billboard. But I wonder if we'll be getting allies in this game? Or will the Hulk even exist in 2099?

Edit:

Is this a picture of Spider-Man 2099 vs the Hulk 2099??

Hm. I get the feeling that 2099's universe will be the most fleshed out and thought out in the entire game.

Especially since all four universes were worked on by different people and put together later on. That's usually a HORRIBLE idea no matter what you're working on.

Anyway, looks nice but Activision isn't going to let me post it on the megathread. Not that it's not confirmed already as it is. :P

Considering News Lad relays all this kind of **** to Activision, I'd love to see their response. Unlike Eidos and Rocksteady, Activision is completely lax on the leak issue where as Eidos started kicking some asses. hah

I still say 4th dimension isn't going to be Symbiote, even if there IS a Symbiote What If? comic. We'll see though.

Ryuuie,

What, or who, do think will be the fourth spidey?

Definitely not Symbiote Spider-Man. The only costume that the 4th leaked Cosmic Spidey even looks remotely close to is movie Venom.

I'm not quite sure, but why would Symbiote Spider-Man want to help save reality? Sure, in the comics he may not be aggressive, but that's how he's ALWAYS been portrayed in Activision's games.

Someone like Symbiote Spider-Man wouldn't care about the universe and would end up fighting with the others as a villain later on.

Especially if Activision tries to use his same attitude from one of the endings of WOS where he controls New York.

That looks more like Maestro Hulk to me, this is Hulk 2099. Looks like a hairy dinosaur demon, lol.

Where can I find this alternate Symbiote Spidey?
I forgot the site posted pages ago.

It looked exactly like 616 Spider-Man with 616 Spider-Man's powers.

It wasn't really anything new except Spider-Man kept the symbiote and different choices were made. He died at the end of the comic, killed by Black Cat.

Seriously, that'd be a horrible mistake on Activision's part and they KNOW they can't afford that.

If anything, that 4th Spider-Man is Poison. He has the powers of Spider-Man during The Other (the stingers, organic webbing, seeing in the dark, better adhesive powers, and all that). Amazing Spider-Man in SM:SD doesn't have those powers, it'd be a subtle change, but a change none the less.

It'd be something not shown in games before, and Spider-Man could be MUCH more vicious than normal without it looking completely ******ed like in WOS.

Also, the crazed Symbiote fans would get their Symbiote Spider-Man and the kids who LOVED SM3 would get their "Black Spider-Man / Black-Suit Spider-Man".

Those 2099 pics are ****ing glorious! I can't friggin' wait to see gameplay!!

What I'm curious about is what villains are they picking if they go with the Poison continuity...

I'd love to fight Morlun even tho he's a one deal type of villain and isn't that known...

LOL.

Activision has nothing riding on this game. Regardless if sales are strong or poor there will be another Spider-Man game right behind it. This isnt a make or break title for Activision, they have no such thing in their library.

As for your idea of Poison, id deff like to see that far more than any symbiote.

No thats Maestro, Spidey 2099 fought him when he was on the Exiles.

To be honest with you, I thought I was gonna be pissed after reading your response... but I agree 100%.

It's kind of sad that they won't really treat this as "make or break" because we'd probably get an even better game that way. =|

I'd love to see Posion, I'll definitely be pissed if it IS the What If? scenario of that whole "Peter kept the Symbiote" thing...

In Poison's story (for those who don't know), it's a What If? situation centered around The Other (in fact, the comic is titled "What If?... The Other"). Instead of letting the giant spider (from ASM #527) augment his powers, he rejects the offer and attacks it. The symbiote leaves Mac Gargan / Scorpion and takes over the part of him left open during his time in the giant cocoon. It sounds stupid, but it's a bit cooler than I'm typing it out. :P

Pretty much, it's Peter + Symbiote + new abilities from The Other. If you want a (slightly half-assed since I don't remember it all) summary, click that spoiler button below. I'd recommend you just read the comic though... it reads better than it sounds.

He's now "Poison", no longer Venom and no longer Spider-Man (or Peter Parker, for that matter). He tries to replicate the symbiote inside Mary Jane but she's having none of that, tells him to go. So, he digs up Gwen Stacy, replicates with her and creates a female Carnage.

What I'm curious about is what villains are they picking if they go with the Poison continuity...

I'd love to fight Morlun even tho he's a one deal type of villain and isn't that known...

That'd be a really nice 4th dimension.. it'd pretty much be Amazing but in a darker sense and it'd make more sense to do it that way.

Sure, Noir is darker than Amazing but it's also in another timezone entirely so I don't know if that would count.

That's Maestro.

And yes, there was Hulk in 2099 and he looked like this:

And the fact that Spidey 2099 is in this pretty much guarantees my purchase.

Poison is basically just symbiote Spidey. It looks slightly different, sure, but it's still a symbiote Spider-Man.

Im with you.

It must not cost much to make these games, because Activision cant be making that much profit from them. I mean WoS sold barely a million units and thats including EVERY platform the game released on, not just the big 2. Im assuming Activision has already made up their cost of purchasing the license and now are basically just pushing out Spider-Man themed 'shovelware'. Im still holding out hope that this game turns out to be a critical/consumer success alerting Activision that we are in demand of GOOD Spider-Man titles not just garbage with Spidey's logo on it. Altho now that i think about it, even if this game sells through the roof, Activisions first thought is probably going to be "We have them hooked again, start pushing these titles out even faster"

Heres hope to a really solid Spider-Man title tho.
