Should the reboot use spider tracers to help distance it from Raimi's movies? It could be used in a way that helps show off his scientific abilities.

Over in the web shooter thread people are complaining about the logic that there is no waya college/HS kid could create something as advanced as the web shooters, but people have no problem with him creating something that's on par with '007' type technology like the spider tracers...?

well spider tracers wouldn't be that difficult if you already have a spider sense. You just test different radio frequencies untill you hit one that triggers a preferred response from your spider sense.

If humans actually had a spider sense I'm sure scientists would have come out with spider tracers decades ago. We already have the technology to produce a wide range of radio frequencies. We do not have the technology to create spider webs.

Basically what I'm saying is that the technology for spider tracers has been around for decades. It's in your ipod, cell phone, television, radio, ect.

Sure, Why not? One of the few things the old movies did wrong was the downplaying of Peter's smarts. They made him more of an everyman. This one should play up the fact he's kind of a genius...

Traditionally, Spider Tracers are fired from the webshooters and so are webcapsules, as far as I remember so, no, a utility belt won't be required.

Also, if he's going to have mechanical webshooters you might as well let him have the rest of gadgets considering the webshooters are the most far-fetched of his devices

this is exactly why I'm leaning towards green goblin and dock ock in the same movie for this reboot. First Gwen blames spidey for her father's death at the hands of dock ock, and then she dies while still hating spider-man at the hands of the green goblin.

That seems like too much for one movie, both in terms of heavy drama and big characters. Nobody wants another SM3 cluster****. Besides, the consensus seems to be that both killing off Gwen and introducing the Goblin would benefit from build-up and a longer-term emotional investment from the audience than you could get by putting it all in the first movie.
