I think a Spider-Woman movie has huge potential to be a major hit. Her powers are pretty cool, her costume is stylish, her Hydra backstory is interesting, and she is the female counterpart the megapopular Spider-man.

Story ideas and casting suggestions welcome.

I think a Spider-Woman movie is a horrible idea as essentially she is one in a number of characters who tried to cash in on "Spider-Man"'s good fortune.

Jennifer Connelly as Jessica Drew

Terrible idea. There are other characters that would be a better sell than her.

it's just about unnecessary a movie as Ant-Man.

Perhaps it would have one upside........a movie worse than Elektra.

I was going to say they could do the whole she is a super spy, formally for Hydra, now for SHEILD, double agent thing. But they already have the perfect character for that movie: Black Widow.
Spider-Woman might confuse non-comic readers who could think she is Spider-Man's sister.

If Marvel have a money tree growing on their backyards then go on make Spider-Woman. After all, the more the merrier.

I love Jessica to death, she's one of my favorite Marvel women, buttt I can't see her ever having a successful movie.

Nnnooo. She's better off as part of an ensemble cast. Some characters are better as part of a group and some are better single. Spider-woman is not good single. Not interesting enough for a movie anyway...A tv movie maybe.

100% waste of time. The world just can't take that much Spider_____.

Just give the lady an animated series.

I love me some Spider-Woman, but even I'd have a hard time forcing myself to watch a movie about her. And I'd have to explain to all of my friends that she really does exist in the comics, fend off their neverending questions about why she has nothing to do with Spider-Man, and side-step the nonsense of a woman with spider-powers shooting electricity from her hands.

I love the character, but a movie would bomb big time. Like others have stated,it would raise too many questions for the casual audience. Better to go for an animated series.

Although I'm curious to see which way they'd go with the costume :D...

i think it would be an excellent idea. with evangeline lilly or kate beckinsale as jessica Drew

or Stacy kiebler as julia carpenter

i think its a horrible idea, but that might just be me dislike because i don't like spinoffs. One spiderperson in holywood is enough.

it's just about unnecessary a movie as Ant-Man.
I'd rather have an Ant-Man film just so he can be set up for Avengers. Spider-woman isn't as much of a needed member of the team, so it would really be as much of a waste as Man-Thing 2

I'd rather see her (Jessica Drew) in one of the Spiderman sequels than in her own film.

I like that casting. As I do see something very Connelly-esque about Miss Drew in the comics. But the jury is out on if a Spider-Woman film should be made. Intitially, I would say that a film based on Jessica could be great in it's own way, but the more I think about it, the less inclined I am about seeing a project like that become a reality. I think for right now, she would work best in a team like setting for any upcoming Marvel film projects. Although I definately wouldnt mind a Spider-Woman film if an awesome script surfaces. Actually I would be all for it.

No, the movie would tank hard. I like the charcter but it would be another catwomen

I'd rather see her (Jessica Drew) in one of the Spiderman sequels than in her own film.

Agreed. Spider-Man's blood is obtained, experiemented on, mutated further and used on a dying patient, who becomes Arachne, the Spider-Woman. Her venom blasts would be focused bursts of venom molecules, not electricity; her glider webs could be organically produced (some spiders do glide on webbing).

Her own movie would flop, like most female superhero movies.

FLOP isn't the word, id pay money not to see that movie. She's better suited for an Avengers movie or like previously suggested an animated series. I would not mind if Jessica Biel played her either :)

No,bad idea. Its true that there would be some misconceptions about the character to non-comic readers, but unless the script is really written well..it would just end up bad.

I think it's a good idea. People might think it sounds like Spider-man, only with a female, but when the trailer comes out, they'll discover it's a more like a Spy thriller, if they use Jessica Drew.

She has potential if done right.

I agree. Spider-Woman could be very successful with right script and villian. The spy angle would be good to see.She is one of my favorate Marvel Super Heroes. I also think she would make a good tv series and animated series, with she did have in 1979.

Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Connelly, or Angelina Jolie I could see playing Jessica Drew.
Jessica Biel as The Julia Carpenter version.
