From the moment that Spiderman reboot got released people have been mostly complaining, and especially when some set photos got released like a week ago.

So, if you are tired of those who constantly complain and expect the worst from the reboot, post your thoughts about the film on this thread

NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ALLOWED!
Well, as long as they're mostly positive...

Now someone will have to make a NEGATIVE thread to be politically correct. I don't understand why people can't talk about the good/bad in one thread for the same film.

lol true^ but everyone on these forums likes to take their spidey reboot bashing reallyyyyyy far and it really is getting f**king annoying. i am in full support of this thread

-It's a reboot that was needed
-Lizard is finally being used as a villain
-A villain is used to hint the Goblin
-High School/Ultimate setting
-Gwen is the love interest instead of MJ
-Costume is a good adaption from the mini-series
-Practical stunts being used
-Web-shooters
-Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man

I approve this message.

Knight Rise hit all the best points.

I also like that it appears to only be during his high school days. Unlike the Rami movies, where Peter apparently got his powers on an end of the year field trip.

gotta say, those are all great points

The reason I think that this reboot was definitely needed is that Spiderman 3 was so terrible and didn't match the general feel of Raimis other spiderman films.

If there would have been Spiderman 4 and it would have been good, it still would have bothered me to know that there was a terrible film between 2 and 4, and that it propably was essential to the whole story line of the series

That's why I love this reboot already:awesome:
Keep posting these great ideas guys!

The mere idea of rebooting Spiderman pleases me.

No MJ
I love MJ, but I also like the change

I love how they are starting off with Gwen. I just hope they have MJ come sooner or later. And Toby's gone. I hated Toby for that role.

I like the fact they kept his eyes small. I also think the webbing design will be added through CGI in post production.

I don't understand anyone being negative about it. For me, the casting is great, I love the new suit, love the mechanical web shooters, love the potential the director's style brings to the film, love Andrew Garfield as an actor... and basically I just love the fact we get a reboot instead of going even further into the madness that brought us Spiderman 3.

In 10 years will people be excited about the next reboot?

I will get excited when Webb delivers. Then I will become a giddy fanboy.

Could someone explain the lack of black webbing in the spy spots of filming versus this:

Think it's down to quality of the shots, distance and lighting. The dirt on the costume in that pic darkens the webs too, so that's another thing.

Positive thoughts?

1) No Cheeze. HELL, I'll even settle for minimal cheese after the Raimi CheeseFEST.

2) Serious storylines. Raimi's had it to a degree, but they felt like it was still too G rated or "Disneyfied". Uncle Ben's death felt like something shot out of the late 60's to me. And as such, lacked impact.

3) Storylines and characters that stay truer to the comics. *BIG POSITIVE THOUGHT HERE* From Gwen being JUST GWEN, not a conglomorate of Gwen and MJ (or GWEMJ). Storylines, where Spidey is the primary comic relief and not some made up character Hoffman or some stupid singing Street performer. To the MOST important ONE... NOT.. ALL about ONE Girl.

4) Villains costumes. Just MAKE em BETTER. Period. Yes, the Goblin costume from the comics would not "cross over" to the big screen well, but that montrosity of an "adaption" we got was just a joke. And then we got Surfer Dood as their second chance at it???? WTF????

5) Casting/Characters/Storylines that involve more of the rich tradition of the comics history. Raimi's felt closed in, centering around Peter+MJ+Harry. The reboot already looks better with the introduction of Capt Stacy, and the selection of Martin Sheen to play Uncle Ben. Man I hope (if it is still possible) or wish (if not) that Sally Fields was playing Aunt May. USE this rich cast as more than simply cameos. DO NOT make the reboot feel as closed in as Raimi's felt by the end. The casting so far has been fantastic!

6) Tell Spidey's greatest arc. The night Gwen Stacy Died. It looks good with what we have seen in the reboot as it appears they are following more along these lines in what looks like will happen to Capt Stacy. That should be GREATNESS if handled right. THEY HAD BETTER have Gwen blaming her father's death on Spider-Man. Great storyline! It looks like that will come to be.

7) Have Aunt May not trust Spider-Man. NOT be his biggest fan. It adds to potential storylines down the line if they choose, and adds another burden to Peter facing his Great Responsibility that comes with his Great Power.

8) Take your time introducing JJ. DO NOT make him a caricature. Flesh out his character and DO NOT make him completely one dimensional. It takes away from his storyline and his impact of the overall series.

9) Appears they are not immediately introducing MJ. Saving her for down the line. Looks good, and hopefully they will follow the ASM storyline/approach.

10) More pratical uses of Stunts with CGI. Looks good, but the end result will be the measure. Costume looks more realistic of what a teen might be able to do in real life, while still keeping the overall aspect of the best comic hero costume in the business.

Overall. Very positive thoughts so far!

Contain all negativity into one thread? Where's the fun in that?

a reboot was needed. I'm pretty certain SM4 would have been worse than SM3, that seems to be the trend for movies.

1) No Cheeze. HELL, I'll even settle for minimal cheese after the Raimi CheeseFEST.
I don't see the cheese in that series, still

2) Serious storylines. Raimi's had it to a degree, but they felt like it was still too G rated or "Disneyfied". Uncle Ben's death felt like something shot out of the late 60's to me. And as such, lacked impact.
You'd love to have a scene showing Ben being shot by Carradine?

3) Storylines and characters that stay truer to the comics. *BIG POSITIVE THOUGHT HERE* From Gwen being JUST GWEN, not a conglomorate of Gwen and MJ (or GWEMJ). I love Hoffman and the street performers

7) Have Aunt May not trust Spider-Man. NOT be his biggest fan. It adds to potential storylines down the line if they choose, and adds another burden to Peter facing his Great Responsibility that comes with his Great Power.
Dematties made May less afraid of Spider-Man in comics, I loved that, it's much better than the all the time "OH, THAT AWFUL SPIDER-MAN". Makes me want to punch some sense to that old brood

The rest of your thoughts are just positive enough:up:
