This is a list of people that I think that Spidey CAN beat.

Luke Cage
Bat-Man
Dare Devil
Ronin
The Thing
Iron Man
CAP
Punisher
Hawkeye
Cyclops
Colosuss
Wolverine

I'll come back later with more. I'd like to see who you are going to say.

As much as I love Spidey I have to disagree with at least 2 of your listed characters. It would be 3 but I'm not sure about Luke Cage's strength level these days. Because of their strength and durability I don't think he could physically beat The Thing or Colossus with force. I know he's done it in the past but I think everyone is stronger now then when they encountered each other before. I think the fight with Cap would be the longest one with Cap's shield getting completely covered in webbing as he blocks it all. I think everyone else would have a real problem with it. I think Ben and Piotr can break Pete's webs now or at least should be able to so that would take away the only offensive weapon Spidey has (not including his brain of course). :venom:

Spidey cannot beat
1. Iron Man. Strength level 90, gizmos, durable armor, even more durable energy shield. Peter Parker smart x 2. Unibeam obliterates people. Simply little to no chance.

30% chance of beating
2. Thing. Too tough.
3 Collosus. Another too tough.

50% chance of beating
4. Wolverine. Can't be injured, knock him out is the only option.

Might as well get it out of the way :whatever:

vs. Goku??

This is a list of people that I think that Spidey CAN beat.

Luke Cage - possibly
Bat-Man - Most Likely
Dare Devil - Has been defeated by DareDevil before, but he shouldn't actually have any trouble with him
Ronin - Spidey could beat him.
The Thing - Hell no
Iron Man - Hell no
CAP - He's lost to Cap before.
Punisher - Assuming Punisher doesn't pull out a gun and shoot him...yes
Hawkeye - Yes, He could beat him.
Cyclops - Doubtful
Colosuss - Very Doubtful
Wolverine - He didn't.

I'll come back later with more. I'd like to see who you are going to say.
There ya go.

Spidey has beaten all there guys already, with the exception of The Thing, whom he has fought inconclusively...Batman, whom he briefly tussled with enough to win the Dark Knight's respect...Ronin, whom he hasnt fought yet...and Captain America, who routinely cleans Spidey's clock because...well...he's Captain America, i guess.

Oh, and Iron Man, i guess...but one of the upcoming previews for either ASM or One More Day (i forget which) show them fighting, and Peter webs Iron Man up like a fat little drunken fly, lol. :word:

Spidey has defeated the Thing repeatedly and easily and Wolverine as well. Spidey even before his powerup was so far out of Cap and Daredevil's league that there is really no way they can rationally fight back. On at least one occasion Cap simply surrendered rather than fight Spidey. On that occasion he did try to hit Spidey with his thrown shield. Spidey plucked it out of the air effortlessly with his webs and buried it in the side of a building several stories up. On seeing this Cap knew he was too hopelessly outclassed and surrendered. Unfortunately it was so long ago that I don't recall the rest of the story.

What issue did Spidey defeat the Thing in?

Also; i dont recall Cap giving up in any fight against Spider-Man...what issue was THAT?

No way could Spidey beat Collossus or Iron man. He would have a lot of trouble with the Thing but he's beaten him before so that could go either way. If Cyclops lands a beam on him he's done but if he gets to Cyclops with out getting hit Cyc's done.

I'll ask this now...

No more prep time jokes please. :(

Anyways, Spidey's gonna beat Iron Man in that one more day thingie comin up. Probably wouldn't beat Cap... unless he's a corpse of course...

Um, Spidey took out the Juggernaut once, so given the right circumstances Piotr is not a problem. He's already run circles around the entire X-Men team during Secret Wars. If Cyclops lands a hit is an awfully big if, considering Spider-Man has a danger sense and is very good at dodging stuff.

When Spidey tried to join the FF way back in the beginning he demonstrated his usefulness by taking on all of the FF at the same time and defeating them. This was replayed in a What If? Spidey has also repeatedly quarreled with the Thing and has thrown him through walls and webbed him up on several occasions. His webbing is strong enough to hold the Thing for quite a while although the Thing does break it eventually. In one of the explanation pages about Spidey's powers that was in the back of a comic they said that a 1/2" strand of his webbing was strong enough to hold the Thing for the rest of his life.

As I said in my other post, the fight with Cap was a long time age and while I remember the scene I don't recall anything else. It was probably the early 70's.

Um...no. If you re-read ASM #1, you'll see that Ben hit Spidey, then Spidey threw him...but Ben chides himself for pulling his punch due to Spider-Man's size...and Spidey hardly "defeated" the FF.

Explanation pages nonwithstanding; I define a "win" as one character rendering another unconcious or immobile, and Spidey has never done either to Ben Grimm that ive seen.

I only know of three encounters/fights that Cap and Spidey have had. One was in a Captain America issue in which Spidey and Falcon fought, and then Spidey and Cap had a brief, inconclusive tussle. Another one was the ASM issue in which Cap and Spidey fight Electro. In that one, they have a brief tussle, and Spidey gets knocked on his ass by Cap. However, he could have kept fighting if he chose to but instead decided to 'leave' as Cap had ordered (only to show-up again later!). The latest was that ASM Civil War issue where Cap seemed to have the upper hand initially, but the fight ended inconclusively again right after Spidey finally started to really get his mind (and those Iron Spider appendages) behind fighting Cap.

There's been a few other encounters/misunderstandings that I vaguely recall where one gets a hit on the other or whatever, but I can't recall a single fight where either one of them has had a clear-cut victory. So, in my mind, Spidey can clean Cap's clock, if he just really puts his heart and mind behind it.

People Spidey could feasibly beat
Luke Cage
Bat-Man
Dare Devil
Ronin
CAP
Punisher
Hawkeye
Wolverine

I could see it now.

"Darn your webs I could easily rip out of!!!"

I doubt he will beat Iron Man. I'd like to see a comic where heros don't beat people they'd probably never beat because it "feels good". I'd like to see them storm down Iron Man with an entire army and kick the hell out of him. "Where's your Initiative now, *****?"

And...you know I have to give prep time jokes now.

Dude, then hardly ANYBODY wins fights in comics. Most of them end with them in a daze, or just flat out captured.

In any case Spidey has repeatedly punched out Titania who has the same strength rating as the Thing and seems to be even more durable at least to heat. And he did it without getting hit. He even fought her with Crusher Creel at the same time and punched them both out. Since he is generally on good terms with the FF he is unlikely ever to take a fight to a conclusion.

What issue(s) did he punch them both out? The only encounters I've read, Spidey's managed to more-or-less evade them and foil their plans. He did put the scare into Titania during Secret Wars by schooling her... didn't he punch her off a high ledge or something?

However, Titania does not have near the training or fighting savvy as someone like The Thing has. Outside of temporarily incapacitating The Thing with his webbing, Spidey would have to outsmart him... or maybe push him off a really, really high rooftop.

Ah ok; so when YOUR guy wins, it's all good. When he loses, then it must be some jerk writing a "feels good" story.

I get it. :cwink:

Cyclops has a built in spacial awareness that allows him to predict, accurately, the trajectories and movement patterns of his adversaries. Though Spider-Man has a Spider-Sense, the fact that Cyclops seems to have some small form foresight ability when dealing with opponents ought to even that out. That or he could just make his blast so large and powerful Spider-Man could not feasibly get out of it's way.

Well, in all truth, Spider Man can't beat Iron Man. If Thor came along and smashed him into bits, I wouldn't mind. If Wonder Man laid the smack down, I'd say "Odd, but makes sense." When someone at one fifth his strength, and totally is a target, and beats Iron Man, it's a "feel good" story. Because Spider Man got some "pay back" at that point. It wouldn't make sense, but it would happen.

You definitely misconstrue things I say here. I'd most definitely recommend reading several other posts of mine where I definitely go against Iron Man winning things. Common, but definitely unwarranted.

Luke Cage: Would be TOUGH, but probably Spidey.
Bat-Man: I don't think Batman would be prepared to take Spidey. But he'd beat him with prep time.
Dare Devil: I think Spidey's already beaten DD.
Ronin: Spidey. Ronin just doesn't have the experience.
The Thing: Spidey would outsmart him. In his FIRST issue, he nearly took the entire Four BY HIMSELF! I'm pretty sure that NOW (Since he's grown up and more experieced) Spidey could take the Thing. it'd be close, though.
Iron Man: Only if he's wearing the symbiote or Iron-Spider costumes.
CAP: he ALREADY beat Cap.
Punisher: He ALREADY beat Punisher.
Hawkeye: Spidey. All Hawkeye has are his arrows. If Spidey can dodge Jack O' Lantern's laser scissors, he could dodge an arrow.
Cyclops: Spidey ALREADY fought MOST of the X-Men (Cyclops included), and won.
Colosuss: Don't know. Maybe Spidey's smart enough to pull it off.
Wolverine: Already beat Wolverine. From what I heard.
