Not mad, I just call them like I see them. The way I see is that you enjoyed the karate kid remake, but yet you go in about not needing to exist. If its entertaining and you like it, who cares if its a remake? Who cares if there's money being spent on it? None of your money went directly into production of it, so why care that Hollywood is spending money on a remake that you enjoy. There's good remakes, and there's bad ones. I do agree that too many remakes are being made, but I dont balk at the whole concept of a remake in general like you do because there is merit in remakes. Some of these movies aren't even technically remakes, but closer adaptions of source material, like Old Boy is supposed to be.
You're naive because what youre telling me (and what's ticking me off really) is that famous movies like Ben Hur, Magnificent Seven, Scarface, A Fistful of Dollars, 3:10 to Yuma, The Fly, The Thing (1982), Insomnia, True Lies, The Departed, Nosferatu, True Grit, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, A Star is Born, and Cape Fear all didn't add anything new at all he when they not only added more to their movies and more to their genres, but some of them added and innovated cinema itself, some of them much more so than some original script which may or may not be successful. Hell, some of those movies I mentioned I'd take over "original" movies any day,
