Spike Lee is an awesome director, and James Brown is the perfect subject for a film.

They should go on an cast Eddie Murphy as James Brown. I mean if Murphy could nail that character spot on and spoof him in SNL and Delirious , that he might as well go on and play that role in a serious way

Eddie Murphy would probably love to play James Brown in a biopic but he doesn't look anything much like him maybe it could work if he wore some prosthetic make-up. Maybe it would be another good role for Jamie Foxx.

Joaquin Phoenix doesn't even remotely look like Johnny Cash yet he nailed that character .

The fact that Murphy can do the voice of Brown pit perfect makes him , in my opinion at least , an ideal candidate.
Thru some make and wigs he can look like James Brown.

Actually (in those 2 pics anyway) Cash and Phoenix do look pretty similar. But,I also don't think looks matter with biopics.

it would've been nice to have made this movie BEFORE he died...ya know? like Ray and Ali. in fact, they should start looking at all of the old time famous musicians that are still alive and start making biopics of them before they die too...
