Just FYI, Mako is the voice of Splinter in the new CGI movie. And now that he recently passed away, it looks like this will be his final cinematic performance. I'm glad that Splinter is the character he played.

I'll miss Mako, and I've always enjoyed his performances in the characters he played. Especially AKU from Samurai Jack.

The voice-over work from Mako in the new movie sounds awesome.

It would be a shame if he had to get cut because of his passing and he didn't finish his recordings.

This thread will be for discussion regarding Splinter in the new movie and elsewhere, as well as Mako.

Did he finish the voice over work? or will they be editing around it now?

Nothing has been said regarding that.

They did use Mako's work in the reel at Con.

i hope mako's voice can be used it would be a fitting tribute to the gentleman

according to the main Ninja Turtles (ninjaturtles.com) site, they have finished the script work....the only problem would be if they wanted to make some changes. I bet they will work around it.

this poises a problem for the sequels, though in my mind, it won't be a big deal.

....

Changing voices never stopped them before...They used a better VA for Don in TMNT2 after Feldman had the unfortunate Drug mishap

And then they brought back Feldman as the voice in the third one.

They could also write out Splinter.

I always thought Feldman was the better va for don. People always put Feldman down for his take on don why is that?

I loved Feldman as Donny, much better than the second VA.

And nooo...no writing out of Splinter I hope. Just recast him for the sequel.

Splinter ain't going to be around forever. I'd like to see how the turtles operate without him.

Part of me is intrigued to see the Turtles without him, but another part of me just doesn't want to let him go. Whatever happens, I do hope that we get to hear Mako in this final role. I've always admired him, and like you, my favorite role was his voice for Aku on Samurai Jack.

I'd like to have one last performance to remember him by. He will be missed.

Well what I did get to hear of Mako as Splinter was pretty awesome.

write out splinter? ahahaha

...He is dead in the current volume of the comics and has been for going on 3 years.....

@ TMNT R L-- About feldman, he just wasn't...Donnieish in his voice to me. His voice was too harsh I guess. i prefer a more introspective quality for him...I guess that's why I liked the second guy better

I did like the voice for Donatello in the second movie better. He sounded more like a braniac and a scientist type which Donatello is.

So there was more at the Con than the trailer? What was in the reel?

Why don't you try looking in the thread I made about it.
