Oooohhhhh God....

Looks like it's going to be Cap vs. Spider-man. I swear, I hate seeing Spider-man fight the likes of Cap, DD and so on. All these low level characters that should be knocked out in no time. Spidey will probably get tossed around by Cap or Skrull Cap...whichever it is.:o

Doesn't help that Bendis writes an awful Spider-man in NA as well.

I HATE how bendis writes 616 spidey, although i will admit on occasion he has some hilarious lines, but he sounds way too immature and neurotic. Dan Slott needs to school Bendis on how to do things properly. Oh and Skrull Cap doesnt stand a chance.

Bendis is my favorite writer, but he just seems to get 616 and Ultimate Spidey confused. He doesn't have a grasp of the 616 character at all. I mean, we're 40 or so issues into NA already and Spidey hasn't done anything at all. He's running around as the team clown. Spidey does not tell jokes 24/7. Jeez, there are times when the character can have a half way serious conversation with someone.

And I disagree. Marvel seems to get a kick out of having Spidey beat by people that aren't even close to his level. So...."Skrull" Cap definitely has a chance....:csad:

It works both ways... as I've seen Spidey beat the Juggernaut and FireLord... people WAY outta his league.

:yay:

Cap has better combat skills than Spidey.

Captain America is a low-level character?

Ugh...I hated that story. Spider-Man should not be able to even touch Firelord, much less beat him up.

Spidey vs. Firelord was an amazing story and classic two parter. Always have loved that one. Plus, he was in his black suit. Was awesome.

All types of stories from Spidey's past vary as far as the fights go... he can get screwed up by a powerless Black Cat or the Prowler, yet can take on the likes of the Hulk, FireLord and the Juggernaut.

You never know how any story can turn out because Spidey has proven that he can fight to the limit, or at times, he can get caught with his pants down, which is why it doesn't quite shock me when Screwball was able to get away in the before last issue... (not that she would have anyway with a Spidey tracer on her), but the complaints that followed by readers was astounding...

Just because Spidey can beat FireLord doesn't mean he can beat everybody.

And if he could beat everybody, then his books would be boring.

:yay:

Stop it! That story doesn't exist! There was never any instance of Spidey beating a herald of Galactus...it didn't happen...

La-la-la-la I can't hear you la-la-la-la-la.

Spidey gave the Silver Surfer a decent little beating the first time they met as well...

Keep in mind that Firelord could have obliterated Manhatten Island, and Spider-Man along with it, if he chose to. Instead, he let his pride get the best of him and tried to take Spidey on hand-to-hand, which was a big mistake on HIS part.

So yes; using all his abilities, he would have won, but phsically, Spidey simply out-classes him, due mostly to his speed and reflexes.

I agree with the story as it was presented.

Also; speaking of Captain America; i think the Firelord issue was the first time Cap actually began to respect Peter as a formidable combatant.

That Firelord story is easily one of the best Spidey stories of all time.

You know, I always wondered, when did Cap discover Spidey's secret identity? You know...before Mephisto and stuff.

Secret War, I think. Both Cap and Peter were out of costume when they met each other.

Next he'll be beaten by street magicians, and urban gymnasts.

Next time: Spider-Man punches out Galactus!

See, it's good, because Spidey NEVER GIVES UP!!! Willpower trumps all!!

Captain America is easily in the top tier of 616 hand to hand fighters.

Captain America
Wolverine
Iron Fist
Daredevil
Shang-Chi

If you take away a persons powers...and they go toe to toe with Cap...it's almost certain that they will get schooled. I mean he did pretty good in that one on one with Tony at the end of Civil War (with a little help). But still, Cap is a Skrull in this case. So even if Spidey lost, it would be against a being that is naturally more powerful than Cap was.

Your taste in comics is breathtakingly bad. It's painful to watch your comments most of the time.
