Spoilert Alert! The Greatest Death Scenes Thread.

^

The Town

Jeremy Renner takes a sip of a drink before his last "Hurrah"

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Pt 1

Dobby's death was pretty moving:csad:

It's called emotional manipulation kids!

Fargo
Steve Buscemi gets killed with a axe and put in the wood chipper

Road To Perdition
Michael Sullivan saves his son and says he is sorry before dying from his wounds

The Green Mile
John Coffey's execution
I was a little teary eyed from that one.

Rob Roy has a great deathscene when he wins the final duel.
It's mainly emotionally satisfying than gore as the bad in this movie is a massive jerk.

Easily one of the best fight scenes too.

^ Good Ones:up:

Animal Kingdom

The psycho dude gets a well deserved bullet in the head

True Grit

Barry Pepper gets shot from a distance by Matt Damon. Also one of my favorite lines in the film, regarding another death: "“if he wanted a decent burial, he should have gotten himself killed in the summer:woot:”

Lonely are the Brave

Kirk Douglas' faithful horse Whiskey dies in the last minutes of the film:csad:

Monte Walsh

Cowards shoot Jack Palance in his store

The Lion King
"Long Live The King!" (Mufasa's death)
"Friends! I thought we were the enemy..." (Scar's death)

A Better Tomorrow
Why can't you accept him? Why? To be brothers...
(Gunshot)

The Expendables
Gary Daniels neck break

Warning shot

Blade
Some motherf**kers are always trying to ice skate uphill

The Lion King
"Long Live The King!" (Mufasa's death)
"Friends! I thought we were the enemy..." (Scar's death)

"Throne Of Blood" has a pretty epic death scene, probably the best "shot by arrows death" filmed even today.

A lot of good ones there:up:

I haven't watched it in a long time and I don't know how it holds up, but I really liked Blade. One of the best comic book adaptation imo. Even Dorff was good in it.

BLADE

Udo Kier takes an involuntary sun bath

TDK

During the bank heist prologue, the Joker shoots one of his accomplice without even looking at him

Ran.

Death Sentence

Just watched this one again with Kevin Bacon. The unrated version carries the unedited scene where, in my opinion, he silently dies after all he's been through. Very Taxi-Driver esque.

I really liked this movie. I also thought John Goodman was great in it.

Training Day
When Alonzo finally get's killed by the Russians. I think it gives a sense of satisfaction after what he's done to Hoyt throughout the day.

^ Good one:up:

I also liked Death Sentence. I think I preferred Death Wish, but DS was pretty good too.

The Professional
Kind of a double death scene. Where Leon gives Stansfield the hand grenade pin and says, "This... is from... Ma..til..da."

Gladiator
When Maximus dies, I loved how they did it with him returning to his home, and seeing his family waiting for him

Robocop

After crashing into a huge container of toxic waste trying to run over Robocop the bad guy with skin melting off him stumbles in front of a speeding car and is obliterated.

Another memorable death is when a robber takes a woman hostage so Robocop shoots between her legs and changes the robber's religion
