i say down last night after i heard the news and wanted to draw something that honored a man who brought me so much joy over my life. but i saw so many other great artists do it i knew i couldn't do him justice. so i simple poured a drink and read a spidey comic

I first became aware of Stan Lee as the narrator of the 80s Marvel cartoons like Pryde of the X-Men and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and such. I always saw his name and such in the comics in the credits and such, but those cemented him in my mind.

I was about to post something similar. I can still hear him call the audience "True believers" and saying "Excelsior!"

Yes those cartoons were the first time I became aware of Stan Lee.
