"I'm a big name dropper, so I'll tell you — I had lunch with Robert Downey Jr. some time ago because he wanted to discuss his character for Iron Man. Just listening to him talk, here's a guy who cares about the role he plays. He wanted to know everything about Tony Stark: How did I feel about him? How did I think he should be portrayed? I'm sure he's spoken to a hundred other people about it, so by the time you see him on the screen I'm convinced you're gonna be looking at Tony Stark."

lets hope so stan lets hope so:ninja:

All actors playing Marvel superheroes should be required to do this. :o

It's good to know RDJ respects the source enough to take this initiative..

Out of all the Marvel movies so far, RDJ seems like the actor most commited to the specific lead character.

Agreed. I think RDJ has a lot of respect and appreciation what Stan conveyed and I suppose it's some sort of honour to be in a position where you can get to show gratitude and ask for advice and whatnot.

I would argue that Tom Jane was at least equally, if not more committed to the Punisher but I get what you're saying Captain. In any event, it's cool that RDJ is treating Iron Man as seriously as he is.

As I have said before nothing but good things about this movie so far.

Robert Downey Jr. being the fantastic actor that he is will do a fantastic job as Tony Stark

Oh I haven't been this excited for a marvel movie sense the first X-men. RDJ as Tony is so cool. Glad to see he spoke with Stan on the character. Not many actors would take the time to do so.

Just recently saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and RDJ was good in that film.

I forgot about Jane...but yes, that's very true, He was extremely dedicated as well...:unishr:

Yes required protocol like required reading at Star Fleet Academy. Except it'll be Stan Lee U.

Agreed 100%.

And the fact that Stan really enjoys sitting down with the actors and discussing these things is great, too. Stan really is the Man.

Absolutely! I believe this movie is gonna meet, if not exceed, our expectations!

Dam right I bought that movie and had a very good felling about his acting and have since been amazed by how genuine he is in his roles, he makes you believe in the character. These are the movies of his Ive seen & recommend.
-Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
-Air America
-The Singing Detective
-Zodiac

I'm very happy to hear RDJ and Stan Lee were able to sit down and talk about the film together, it really seems like RDJ is 100% commited to Tony Stark as giving the best represenation of the character on screen as he can.

Honestly... this seems like it's heading for "best Comic book movie ever..."

Seriously... it's all good things coming from RDJ...

I was on the fence about this guy, but that's really cool that RDJ and Stan get along so well.

Frankly, I wasn´t that excited initially for this project cuz IM was never a huge favorite of mine and I felt after the success of the Spidey and X-Men movies Marvel movies were getting less and less interesting - don´t get me started on FF -, but everything about this seems really cool so far.
