Stan Lee's Marvel Movie Cameos

His SM3 one was the most random/cheesy of his cameos imo.

His BEST cameo was in Spider-Man 3. He finally got the time he deserved.

The Fantastic Four series seems to also be getting it right.

X-Men 3 was alright... but, the best are definitely SM3 and FF.

...Dude his SM3 cameo was so like forced and random.

I was expecting him to drop a "True Believers" or an "Excelsior!"

Exactly. We got Stan Lee. Not some random guy standing on a beach, not some random guy standing on the ground below... we got Stan "the man" Lee for the first time!

Don't you guys remember when he had cameos in his own comic books? And his cameo, I'm pretty sure, from Spider-Man TAS? Now THOSE are the cameos he should be getting in these films. Not random guy on ground #1 or guy on beach #2.

Fantastic Four went the right way by actually giving Stan Lee a person-to-person dialouge with the heroes and Spider-Man 3 followed up on that. And Fantastic Four 2 seems to be giving him another well deserved spot light cameo- although I don't think he's seen with the Fantastic Four like he was in the first film.

Every other cameo, except for Daredevil and X-Men 3 and Hulk sucked!!! Heck, on the commentary of X-Men 1 you can hear them talking about how it felt wrong that the guy eating a hot dog upstaged Stan Lee.

This guy is a legend and, in my eye, deserves to have more meaningful a cameo than just some random guy on the street below or on a beach.

BEST CAMEOS: Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3, Hulk [We get interaction between Stan Lee and the hero/es with dialouge]

SECOND BEST CAMEOS: Daredevil [We get interaction between Stan Lee and the hero]

THIRD BEST CAMEO: X-Men 3 [We get Stan Lee, albiet no interaction although he is still in the spot light]

FORTH/ WORST CAMEOS: The rest. [Stan Lee is just 'random guy at #_', he deserves ALOT better]

Please never have Stan Lee have any kind of speaking part again in ANY super hero film!!! SO what if he invented the character, thats very nice for him, but hes not an actor and deserves nothing more than to be a face in the crowd at most!! The SM3 scene was a disaster, even if you knew who stan lee was, the majority of cinema goers who dont know hu the hell he is would be like "WTF was that about?!?!"

who cares if the average joe don't know who Stan is. Him saying a line or two is hardly going to ruin the movie.

It won't ruin the movie no but it can become a big WTF moment and can be distracting. No one's denying the fact that Stan Lee is a legend but he's not an actor and imo the SM3 cameo was the most cringe-worthy and WTF cameo he's done so far.

Well, at least I got Chambers backing me up.

I can't wait to see his FF2 cameo and it looks like he has another great well deserved cameo in Iron Man...

And he deserves to be FAR more than a face in the crowd... if it wasn't for Stan Lee these characters, these MOVIES would have NEVER EXISTED!

"SO what if he invented the character"

I don't know if you phrased it specifically like that, if so see the rant below- if it just came out sounding like that, then just ignore the rant below.

Just created the character? Are you fcking kidding me?! Just blowing it off like that- come on, dude... if he didn't create these characters do you think these films would have even existed? NO. The guy is a LEGEND.

Before Spider-Man, it was impossible to think of a teenager as something other than a sidekick. It was near impossible to think about a hero with everyday problems and girl problems even... Stan Lee humanized heroes and alot understand this and see just how big of an icon this man is... I feel sorry for you that you don't see that by the way it sounds like you just shrugged it off in that comment. Heck, the creators of 'Heroes' even know his significance and gave him a cameo in the show.

In the Spider-Man films, he's more important than Raimi. In the X-Men films, he's more important than Singer and Ratner... and on and on and on... these movies would have never existed if it wasn't for Stan "the man" Lee, so you really have A LOT of nerve phrasing it like that.

Fine, people can have their opinions about the extent to which the cameos should be... but, shrugging off the living legend just like that?! Wow dude, you really don't know where we would be without him and his creations...

I think your taking this abit over the top, i appreciate that he created many beloved comic book characters (and i obviously realise that if he hadn't invented them then there wouldnt be movies about them!) but outside of the comic book world he's not a legend and most probably isnt even known.

Your comment that hes more important to the spiderman movie than raimi is ridiculous. Yes he created the character but to say so without him there would be no movie is just daft, thats like me arguing that without the guy hu invented recording onto film there would be no such thing as movies altogether so that guy is actually more important than stan lee and sam raimi combined?!?! a very stupid argument im sure u would agree....?

These films are marketed at a whole new generation of audiences, comic book fans and more importantly none comic book fans. my mum really liked the spiderman films (until the 3rd) and has never read a comic book in her life and wouldn't know stan lee if she walked past him!!

At the end of the day, yes give him a cameo he deserves it as these characters are his creations, but surely no more speaking parts because he's NOT an actor and major contributions as in SM3 can seriously devalue the film!!!

And without Stan Lee im pretty sure i do know where we would be, we'd all love batman and superman coz there would be no alternatives and thats about the only difference I can think of....jeez we're not talking about Einstein or Newton here!!

It's gotten that bad that people are saying STAN LEE ruined Spider-Man 3?

Wow, you know I could understand people being turned off by the (in other's opinion) "lackluster" portrayal of Venom, the dancing, even Tobey's laughable inability to cry convincingly from the nose down, but if the addition of a man, a man who has one line in the entire movie, a man who is on screen for less than a minute of a two and a half hour movie, a man who for all intents and purposes deserves to be in the movie for at least that long, if that ruins the movie for you, turn off you computer and go outside. You're done. You've obsessed over a movie that apparently you don't like for far too long. Do yourself a favor, and try not to think of the great personal wronging you've been delivered by Stan Lee.

It's for the best.

Superferet, couldn't have put it better myself.

And yes, Raimi is important- but guess what? If it wasn't for Stan Lee there would be no Spider-Man movie for Raimi to make... thus, the movie wouldn't exist. Lol. Their both important, but without Lee- there is no Raimi's Spider-Man, simple as that.

it certainly doesn't ruin it, but it sure as hell doesn't help either.

I don't know why people don't like Stan's extended cameos. Because the midnight showings all really love it when he comes on. They point, they shout- they hollar. Maybe that's just the fans though... knowing that one of the living icons is on screen.

I don't know how the general public takes to it, but I'm always anticipating and waiting for him to have a cameo.

Please no more cameo's. Sort of getting tired of seeing his wrinkle old ass in every comic movie..We know who u are,so please stop. It does get a little old and repetitive knowing your gonna see him in some sort of screen shot...:wow:

Jeez and I thought Bell was a disrespectful to the legend, nocomics takes that "award".

I really hate Stan Lee.

Then u really hate MARVEL. Because without him- there would be no MARVEL heroes, he more or less created them all.

Saying you hate Stan Lee is like saying you hate Walt Disney. They're both equally iconic and legendary.

Just because he's not a fan of stan lee, doesn't mean he cant like his creations. I like the marvel characters and appreciate Stan Lee created them but I'm indifferent to him. I used to think Harry Potter was cool but I didnt worship J.K Rowling................ R u kind of getting my point now??

He takes too much credit for what was really a team effort at best for him and sometime wholly and obviously (to me at least) Kirby's. He had Kirby removed from a cover of fantastic four.

Agree, think Stan gets too much of the credit for the 'creations'. As the one poster stated Kirby or whatever his name is,has also contributed just as much as Stan Lee has.
I'll admit I'm not the biggest comic fan in the world haven't read a comic in years. I know enough about the characters to like them or hate them, and know what there all about. If I don't I come here or search the web for info.I'm more of a movie buff than comic book, but I love comic book movie's(most are entertaining etc..).
I just don't care for the extended cameos by the creators of these characters it gets a little old. I have nothing personal against Stan Lee,just tired of seeing him put his face on screen. Just sit back and enjoy ur co-creations. Its all good to occasionally make a cameo, but in every movie almost,/shrug enough...If ya gonna be in every movie, least make it very unnoticable..

Has anyone seen the Blade cameo? They filmed it but it got cut from the final film. He was a cop or something...?

Guess everyone has a different perception of Stan "the man" Lee... I'm kind of like Brody in 'worshipping' the guy (not actually 'worshipping' in that sense, but to me he's a living legend). And he does give credit to Kirby, in his interviews- he will most likely bring up the importance of Kirby in bringing up the look of the characters. So, no he's not self-righteous, as you try to make him out to be.

For those too young or not into Kevin Smith's movies- Brody is the guy from 'Mallrats' played by Jason Lee.
