it's a web series continuing where the original series left off... and the guy who plays Mr.Scott is a Doohan (any relation to James?)... and the guest in the first episode is Michael Forest reprising his role of Apollo... check these three eps out... I think there's more to come...

so whattaya think?

I watched the first episode and it wasn't bad. The voices are a bit odd but it's not bad. I also kept waiting for them to start doing comedy gags because it looks like a skit.

I saw the first ep on their youtube channel ( the ep with the return of Apollo ).
It's not bad at all, the sets are very good and identical to the original services and the acting is fine enough.

I believe the Doohan actor is his grand nephew or something similar. I'd read about this a few weeks back but I haven't watched yet.

Yes, I've seen Star Trek Continues and it's a good fan film series that could give Star Trek Phase 2 fan film series a run for its money. The actor playing Scotty is the son of original Scotty, James Doohan.

The actress playing Uhura used to be in Phase 2 fan film series in the same role.

I enjoy it. It took me a minute or two to get used to the guy playing Kirk, but I got over that. I like the addition of the ship's counselor. The only guy that doesn't quite work for me is McCoy, but it's a fan series so I'm cool with it. The production values are pretty good too.

well, I just got thru watching these three episodes and I'm highly impressed at a fan-made production like this one... this series begins in what WOULD have been the start of Trek's fourth season and introduces the Enterprise's first on-board counselor... the sets are spot-on identical to the original series, the entire episodes have the look and feel of the series, if you bypass some of the actors playing the parts of the characters that some of us all know and love, and focus in on the stellar performances of Vic Mignogna as Captain Kirk, you find yourself having an enjoyable time with a performance that can't be rivalled... this guy has almost all the speech patterns, poses, facial expressions and mannerisms of William Shatner playing the Captain... and in some scenes, certain lighting and camera angles are done so perfectly, that you'd SWEAR it was Shatner... and equally good performances are done by the son of James Doohan taking over the role of Scotty from his dad... all in all, if you were watching this (so far) three episode series, you'd SWEAR you were back in the 60's watching Star Trek on NBC... and keep an eye and ear open from Star Trek alumni from the past... this one's a treat and a winner... and all from the hands of extremely talented fans of the original series... well done, guys...

yeah they are INCREDIBLY well done and the casting (most of it) is pretty spot on especially Kirk, Sulu, and Chekov. Oh and the redhead counselor :hrt:

I've met Vic Mignogna in person (worked security for his autograph line at the 2010 Phoenix Comicon). He is a good guy.

As for other Star Trek alumni, Michael Dorn (aka Worf) does the computer voice in their latest episode. The episode picks up where Mirror, Mirror left off and spends its whole time in the Mirror Universe.

I have a hard time believing Spock in this series, but Kirk and Scotty are almost dead on. The Phase 2 group got Kirk right as well with the new actor playing him and their current Spock is awesome (kinda helps that they are using the same actor who was a stand in for the JJ Abrams Spock...which is funny because Phase 2 has openly made fun of the JJverse).

since we're posting a photo of Enterprise's very first ship's counselor, here's a look at the rest of the crew...

and what's a funny little tidbit is that in this series' second episode, Lou Ferrigno guest stars... as an Orion slave trader... I didn't really realize how funny that was until I REALLY thought about his casting on this show and his past role on another series of his... :woot:

It's actually his son...

Chris Doohan has also been in both of the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies.

I thought maybe his son but then I thought his son would be too old to play the role (he's 54 so not as old as I thought). Then someone pointed that out and I remembered he was having children well into his 60's nearly 80. :wow:

That was a daughter and she'd be around 14 now so obviously not her.
