Star Trek: Renegades

Tim Russ (Tuvok) directed a fan film called Star Trek: Of Gods and Men a number of years ago, and is in the middle of directing a new one titled Star Trek: Renegades. He is planning to pitch it to CBS in to get it picked up as either a TV or web series. Here are the two trailers:

Do you guys thing that there is any chance the show will be picked up? Apparently this project cost about $200,000 and will be released sometime during the Summer of 2014. Here is the FB page:

I seriously doubt it will get picked up as a television series or otherwise. That doesn't really have anything to do with the quality, but more with CBS' lack of interested.

As for the quality, I think it looks alright. I'm kind of looking forward to it. Time will tell though.

I mean if the executives are THAT impressed, they might later decide to pick it up as a series. Right now I'll look forward to this as a one shot fan film.

Star Trek Renegades was pretty crappy and felt like a fanfic just in film version. The characters were dull and some of the special effects looked a bit cheap and not on par with the previous TV series.
