I don't know about that. All I've heard is some saw the same glitches on the stuff at SDCC, and the DVD release of the OT was pretty poor, not the best transfers. To me something like Star Wars known for its visuals should have no reason what-so-ever to have a poor transfer, I won't get into it but this kind of stuff angers me.

I'll be disappointed as hell if ROTJ still has horrible color glitching of the lightsaber blades clashing in front of Palpatine's face.

Seconded. Such a simple thing to fix too one would imagine.

Oooh yes! That bit looks bad.

One thing that unfortunatelly can't be fixes without having to r*pe the movie would be fixing the lightsaber battle between obi-wan and darth vader in episode IV

So, if he has the rights after he dies what do you think that is going to happen to them, will his family receive the rights? Will a studio receive them? Will Star Wars become public domain?
What do you think that's going to happen? Do you think his family will receive them and then sell them to a studio that decides to make a reboot?

Ok, this needs to go to the misc films, can a mod help me?

What will happen to the star wars rights after george lucas dies?

What would u fix about it? i actually love it the way it is; maybe enhance the lightsaber colors a bit, but i love that duel.

The duel should be shown as originally written: While drinking Mountain Dew and doing tricks on BMX bikes. You know, to be extreme.

The rights will revert to Lucasfilm and the future leaders of that corporation will decide what to do with it from then on. I expect his children will probably have shares in it in the future. Sort of what happened to Disney Corporation after Walt died.

Im sure Lucas has had this scenario set since Empire Strike Back....any rights of ownership will remain with his surviving heirs.

You know what the sad thing is? When Lucas actually passes away, all the haters who call him a crazy **** will praise him and call him a genius and he'll be more loved and understand him more. Like Michael Jackson or Stanley Kubrick.

It'd be perversely hilarious if Fox ends up with it. Another franchise to stripmine.

I still love old Lucas, he's had some flaws but everyone does. The only thing I don't really like that he did was direct & write the prequels, they would of been much better if he just had the story ideas & let someone else write/direct. Oh well, ROTS is still one of my favorite movies regardless.

He was going to...Spielberg talked him into directing them

hopefully his estate will continue the saga beyond episoe 6. They would have to get new actors to play Luke, Han, Leia, and others.. they can base the storylines on various stories that have been produced for novels and comics since then, maybe start with the Timothy Zahn novels..

You can't hate him. I don't see how you can. He did create this series after all. If people are so devout to the originals, you're still loving Lucas, because he did make those happen. And no "I only love 70's Lucas" ******** either. He has always been the same. He just has a lot more now. But he's always maintained a specific vision of these films.

I know many are going to rake me over the coals for saying this but......getting Star Wars away from Lucas may not be a bad thing. Not sure I would trust Fox with it........but someone else perhaps.

They stay in the Lucas family and remain in the family. It shouldn't belong to studios because that is the thing Lucas didn't want in the first place when he created Lucasfilm. If they fall into studio hands, it's no longer independent.
