George Lucas is like someone who is addicted to plastic surgery.

Ok, someone needs to spice this joke up a bit, this is about the 5th, 6th or 7th time someone has made the exact same remark since the changes were announced.

Let's see...

George Lucas is like someone who has so many nosejobs he has started to sneeze out of his ass.

After much deliberation what films to watch first , I am going top Aotc and Sith tonight . I will save the worst for last with TPM . Not that I hate TPM but its my least favorite of the bunch and really the last one I want to see . So 2 to 6 than 1 is my order

I'll go with release order OT then PT......not sure if I'll be able to watch any tonight but I'm going to try to get to it hopefully this weekend...

...Does the new season of CLone Wars start tonight? (yes I'm outta the loop on that)

OK, I can see it's getting a little heated in here, so a few comments:

-It's totally acceptable to be pissed that there were changes made to the movies again, and that the original cuts weren't included. And it's ok to come here and complain about that, as long as it's done in way that respectful of the opinions of others.

-It's also totally acceptable to not be upset about either of these things. And it's ok to come here and give your reasons why, as long as it's done in a way that's respectful of the opinions of others.

So, I don't want to see anyone getting mad or questioning the fandom of the people who bought the blu-rays. And I don't want to see anyone giving attitude to people who have their reasons for not getting them or not being happy that Lucas released them like this.

Just make sure to keep the discussion civil, everyone.

I'm currently watching the 4th season premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Gues what? Ackbar's in it!

^^^ What Jen said, some of you talk like your are the master and ruler of everyone else and some kind of uber fan, that path leads to the infraction button, and that leads to probation.....and well, you get the rest.

If i win the lotto, i'll buy it for u! :woot: (of course, that means i actually have to start playing to have a chance to win :oldrazz:)

My set looks likely to arrive in my hands on monday :csad:. Patience... patience...

Awwww Bim, it's the thought that counts!! :funny:

Watched AOTC tonight, the below sequence looks amazing in Blu Ray!

Does that somehow make it untrue?

:oldrazz:. I bet the Coruscant chase looks great... cant say the same about Obi's fake beard though, i bet it sticks out even more now lol. BTW u Boba freak, i read u can unlock the animated Boba holiday special because it's one of the easter eggs: OT Bonus Disk - Episode IV - Pursued by the Imperial Fleet - The Collection - Boba Fett Prototype Costume - First Look

I obviously havent tried this myself, but try it out and report back if it's true :woot:

Ewan's beard was fake? Haha did not know that. Im happy they kept the extended podrace on. Im so jacked to see that in 3d

Just bought the complete saga on Blu Ray. Did he make any changes to the prequel trilogy or just the original trilogy? Can someone list all the changes to the films if they don't mind? I've only been able to watch a little bit of Episode I.

Well my god AOTC looked ridiculously awesome . Dare I say even better than theatrical version . To me they fixed the cgi character as the last act looked less cartoony.

I loved the voiceover my Shimi . That was a smart change . I don't care what anyone says Aotc is a damn good Stars Wars Not just a decent prequel . The film has a lot of Blade Runner /Noir elements .

AOTC A+

This was well worth my 80 bucks . Especiallif if the other transfers are supposedly better than Aotc's which was mind blowing I may save Sith for Tomorrow

After seeing how great these look. I cant wait for Lucas to get going on the Indy blu ray

How come my copy of Episode 2 looks blurry, it looks terrible!

In some parts, not all. I find it distracting in some scenes though lol. And thanks for clarifying that about the podrace, i wondered which version would make it in.

CGHulk: i would suggest u check ur tv settings, apparently some have had issues with how theirs look and it was due to the set up on their tv. Some comments from here: http://boards.theforce.net/star_wars_saga/b10456/30885339/p354/?8849
I really recommend to anyone who dislikes the blue tint and Vader's pink saber to try calibrating your TVs. It made a huge difference for me. Hoth no longer looks so cyan, Star Destroyers are grey, and Vader's lightsaber is a bold red.

Many default TV settings have a "active contrast" mode or something similar to make the image "pop" more, but it can really crush detail. It's exaggerated in that picture because I just took it off of a TV, but you can still see the difference when I turned the feature off. I also tried to make the whites a little more white as I find the DVDs/Blu-rays too dark, making the lightsabers look less dim.

I would recommend two sites for anyone looking to get the most out of their display:
Here you can find calibration settings for your model TV, often times the result of professional calibrations.
Find the thread for your TV and you'll find settings that have worked for others and can discuss how to get the most.
Also, sites like CDNet will also include professional grade calibration settings in their product reviews.

Hope that helps u somehow!

There's changes to the PT.

Watched TPM last night, thought it was fantastic. Probably the most enjoyable viewing of it I've ever had.

GOD it was beautiful.

The biggest on the pt is the cg Yoda which looks fantastic

Never noticed Obi's beard lol but wait till you see Coruscant Bim, it's just stunning, I got an adrenaline rush from the sequence as if I was seeing it for the first time again. :wow:

I will be sure to check the Boba easter egg out. :D

I also found this! :funny:

Boba Claus FTW! Or is it Santa Fett?

Its got to be your tv setting . It looks stunning

The sharpness is missing from the image, jump from Episode 1 to Episode 3 and then to Episode 2, you'll immediately notice it!

I saw AOTC in a digital theater and in IMAX and detail wise I was blow away both times. I remember the film prints in the theater were amazing too. AOTC was criticized by critics that image was to sharp and clear. While Lucas was filming ROTS he was visited by director Rob Coen and he told Coen he added a screen mesh in front of the camera lens to reduce sharpness, to the opposite of AOTC.

Here's the review of AOTC from blu-ray.com
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Star-Wars-Blu-ray/14903/#Review

"Attack of the Clones fares better all around, but noise reduction still dampens the level of clarity. Episode II was the first film in the series to be shot, processed, and edited with an entirely digital workflow, but it was felt at the time that some of the digital footage was too sharp, so it was softened in post. (Not specifically for this Blu-ray release.) The CGI-heavy sequences aren't as affected, but most of the live-action footage has that characteristic filtered look, and sometimes the actors almost seem to have a kind of hazy glow around their bodies, especially when they're clearly standing in front of a digital backdrop. That's not to say there isn't any fine detail on display here—there certainly is, especially in the intricacies of the computer generated imagery—just not as much as there is in Revenge of the Sith, where Lucas and Co. fully embraced digital filmmaking."

Just finished watching ANH. Holy hell, it looks beautiful.

I got it at Best Buy after work tonight. After my 3 gift cards and the $5 Reward Zone certificate, the whole thing came to $10.24. And I even got the free Darth Vader t-shirt.
