They did. In fact, they gave it to him during A New Hope before the attack on the Death Star. Luke even says, "So you got your reward and you're just leaving now?" Han waited so long to attempt to pay off Jabba because he was caught up in the Rebellion, but it's entirely on him.

true but lets play that out...vader hired fett to track han..sets trap for luke and freezes han..fett never takes han's body and its left in storage on cloud city..leia and chewie escape retrieve hans body before leaving and han is unfrozen that much faster. t:
