I have to go with Star Wars. Fury Road was pretty to look at but I got so much more enjoyment out of The Force Awakens.

Both bring an old school touch to modern cinema. I enjoyed the plot, characters and themes in Fury Road more than The Force Awakens. So, Fury Road for me.

Hard to pick. Liked both but i think i could watch TFA multiple times without it getting a bit much more than i could with Mad Max.

In terms of plot, both films are very similar in that they borrow many elements from previous films in each respective franchise (A New Hope for The Force Awakens, Road Warrior for Fury Road) but they each feel fresh thanks to compelling new characters.

Really liked TFA but unlike Mad Max it didn't feel like a proper new entry as it retread so many plot elements from ANH that I could see the big scene comng a mile away.

Mad Max was inventive and added much more to its respective franchise. For instance it didn't have them using the same vehicles instead of new ones like TFA

Mad Max felt like it was taking what the earlier films did to the next level.

The Force Awakens just felt like it was doing the same things as the earlier films but just...again.

Both films succeeded greatly in establishing new, memorable characters.

I just really wish Star Wars had been half as inventive visually as Fury Road.

Star Wars gave us something warm and familiar. Fury Road took the aesthetic established by the Road Warrior, which has been reused and referenced so many times and blew that world out beyond the margins. All around it really felt like they were building onto what came before rather than just re-issuing it.

Force Awakens by the slightest amount and could easily change in the future. Both are in my top 3 of the year.

Fury Road no question. Both have vague understated scripts, but Fury Road pulled it off in a way that came off as mythic, whereas TFA's felt lazy and rushed.

I loved the force awakens and I had no interest at all in seeing mad max so I am most likely going to like star wars more if I where to watch mad max because it is very rare that I fell disappointed in a movie or end up liking a movie I had no interest in seeing if I end up see. But because I have never seen mad max and don't plain on it I am not going to vote.

Fury Road is probably going to be one of the seminal pieces of cinema for years to come. I enjoyed TFA like I enjoyed Jurrassic World but I don't think there was anything that, no offence, would particularly stand out in a decade.

The story in TFA is a bit paint by numbers but because it was done with a lot of heart, it elevates the film tremendously. No doubt there. But there are a lot more things I love about Fury Road- as a piece of stellar cinema no less, so I pick Fury Road, obviously.

Love them both but Fury Road was a masterpiece of action, intensity and design.

Eh, I'm not really hot on either but

Star Wars 7 : 7/10

Mad Max 4 : 6/10

so I guess I'll go with Star Wars, not that that means much.

Fury Road no question. Both have vague understated scripts, but Fury Road pulled it off in a way that came off as mythic, whereas TFA's felt lazy and rushed.

I wouldn't call Fury Road's script vague. It is very direct and clear. Everybody goes out, everybody turns around and goes back. Character arcs happen along the way.

I liked MM:FR, but frankly, came out of it feeling a bit "meh" after the raves online. Really well made, enjoyed the score and Theron and Hardy. But beyond that, didn't do much for me.

While there are weaknesses in SW: TFA, on the whole, it's a friggin' dream come true for me.

I voted for SW: TFA.

There basically wasn't a single thing in The Force Awakens that we haven't been seeing for the last 40 years across several mediums. There's been a lot of talk about how "Star Wars is back!" but it never really seemed to go away. It is basically omnipresent, its iconography rehashed and slapped on every possible kind of product...and that's just talking about the decade in between films.

Mary Sue would beat the hell out of Rosie the Riveter any day of the week! ;)

Star Wars!

I enjoyed both films but: First 20 mins alone of Mad Max >>>>>>>>Star Wars

Mad Max was a visceral experience, full of fury. Star Wars was boring as ****.

TFA for me. Mad Max was simply awesome, but I have been a SW fan since I was 8 years old (currently 23) and everything related to this franchise has a special place in my heart.

TFA is everything what is wrong with Hollywood right now. I dont know how anybody can like that movie. And on other hand Max is great movie, almost a art. No brainer.
