Really excited about being a Star Wars fan right now. Things seem to be gearing up on the Films front. But lets talk about the Games.

We have TOR running right now and 1313 coming next year.

Can't wait 1313 looks sooo good. :)

With those as Present and Future games and classics like Dark Forces and KOTOR. Star Wars has a great history in games. And apparently Obsidian would love to work on a KOTOR 3.

KOTOR and Jedi Academy are my favorite and would welcome a 3 KOTOR.

Thoughts?

Know what I would really want? A Force Unleash 3 featuring this guy.

Keep his name Kane Starkiller, make him the Son of Juno and Galen and set it after ROTJ.

Just thought I'd say that Star Wars Angry Birds is amazing

So, now that the Old Republic MMO has gone free-to-play, anyone in the mood to create a Hype Guild? Nothing too serious or time consuming. Just having fun and and finishing Quests together, if anyone can spare some time.

If I can get my pc (again) to run the game...I'm down.

I miss Battlefront. I really only liked the first one. You were just a grunt, the jedi were invincible and if you didn't run they'd murder you. There was also around 80different guys on the field at once which was awesome. I'd love to see BF.

Star Wars 1313 was always in danger - Report

Star Wars 1313 was always in danger of not being made, a source has told Kotaku. The tipster claimed LucasArts had doubts about the third-person shooter long before Disney closed LucasArts yesterday.

"They ended up with movie tech that wouldn't fit in a game, and game tech that wouldn't fit in a movie," the source said. "1313 was always in danger of not being made."

In addition, the source claims after Star Wars creator George Lucas saw the game, he decided that it should focus on Boba Fett, a bounty hunter whose story was told in the original Star Wars movies.

The source also released a new concept art image to Kotaku. It shows Boba Fett and a squad of teammates in a sprawling city.

Though LucasArts has ceased production on Star Wars 1313, the game could live on. The studio said yesterday that it is seeking out "proven" external partners who can help bring the game to market. "There's always a possibility that [Star Wars 1313] can still come out via licensing," the company said.

Star Wars 1313 was announced at a pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo event last year. After its initial unveiling, nothing was heard about the game until October. It was then that Disney purchased the Star Wars brand and said all LucasArts games would continue development unabated.

This was reportedly not the case, as past reports claim all LucasArts hiring and game announcements were frozen in the weeks and months following Disney's buyout.

So basically, the game was a lie from the beginning.

That's a shame. Hopefully it does have some chance down the line, although obviously not any time soon.

Yes it a shame about LucasArts and 1313 looked really interesting.

ELECTRONIC ARTS SELECTED FOR MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR THE FUTURE OF STAR WARS GAMING
May 06, 2013

Today it was announced that Lucasfilm Ltd. and Disney Interactive are entering into a multi-year, multi-title exclusive licensing agreement with Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) for the creation of new high quality Star Wars games spanning multiple genres for console, PC, mobile, and tablets.

Industry leaders and creators of best-in-class blockbuster games, the development and publishing teams at EA will collaborate with the creative teams at Lucasfilm to provide audiences with all-new gaming experiences set in the ever-expanding Star Wars galaxy. As part of the agreement, EA studio teams DICE (Battlefield series) and Visceral (Dead Space series) will join BioWare (Mass Effect series, Star Wars: The Old Republic) in the development of new Star Wars games.

"Our number one objective was to find a developer who could consistently deliver our fans great Star Wars games for years to come," said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm. "When we looked at the talent of the teams that EA was committing to our games and the quality of their vision for Star Wars, the choice was clear."

While EA studios will develop for the core Star Wars gaming audience, Disney Interactive will focus on delivering new Star Wars games for casual audiences on mobile, social, tablet, and online gaming platforms.

"This agreement demonstrates our commitment to creating quality game experiences that drive the popularity of the Star Wars franchise for years to come," said John Pleasants, co-president of Disney Interactive. "Collaborating with one of the world's premier game developers will allow us to bring an amazing portfolio of new Star Wars titles to fans around the world."

"Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe," said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. "Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay."

More information, including titles in development, will be announced in the coming months. Continue to check StarWars.com for updates on the future of Star Wars gaming.

That makes two of us...

Well, it can't be worse than what Lucas Arts themselves have been doing this last decade. Which was diddly squat. I just hope the guys at EA know that everyone freaking wants Battlefront III.

Battlefront III was the first thing that entered my head when I saw the news. Well, actually it was the second. The first thing would be subject to profanity filters.

:highfive: and 1313 & First Assault Disney/EA :argh:

anyone in the mood to create a Hype Guild?

Did this ever happen?

Wow, so this could be a really good thing...or really bad. I could easily see it being BioWare=KOTOR/Star Wars RPG, DICE=BattlefrontIII/FPS Star Wars game, Viseral....uhhhhh, Jedi Knight IV/Lightsaber dismemberment game?

Well...if it ever does let me know...LOL. :palps:

I'm always up for it. But looks like no one else around here is interested.

There's definitely potential. Bioware should honestly just do KOTOR3.

From the Star Wars facebook page:
Lucasfilm is thrilled to confirm the development of a new entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront video game series.

While I am excited about another Battlefield entry, I wish a company would revive 1313 and continue as planned.

Excited for Battlefront for sure. Can't wait to see what Bioware is developing. And yeah, wish 1313 was still being developed.

So, I've only played KOTOR on PC, and since now I have a new laptop that's Windows 7 and will not run KOTOR correctly (I've tried everything.) I decided to get an original Xbox and play KOTOR through that.

My question is, has anyone played both versions? And if you started off on the PC version, was it difficult to play on Xbox?

I play more console games than PC, though. Actaully, KOTOR is pretty much the only PC game I've really played.
