Anyone else checked out the new SG1 direct to DVD movie, bought it last night for Blu Ray and really enjoyed it. I felt it was far better than Ark Of Truth, although to be fair I stopped watching the show after the end of series eight, so probably didn't get half of what was going on in the last DVD. This one was far more familiar territory though.
SLIGHT SPOILER WARNINGS
It was great to see the Goauld back in action. I was only expecting Baal to feature so it was a pleasant surprise when half the system lords came back from the dead and turned up for cameos, especially Apothis and Lord Yu.
The movie got a bit dull in the middle with Carter and co establishing their new lives in the alternate reality, especially as we knew it was all going to be wrapped up by the end of the movie, but the ending more than made up for it. If this ends up being the last proper SG1 outing the fans get, then it was a fitting send off for the series.
