Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe

Kind of sad that, in casting younger, Stargate: Universe gets Smallville's cast-offs, though. Being on Smallville is an automatic strike against actors in my book at this point.

It's a Canada thing.

Lots of Stargate actors crossover to Smallville and some went to Battlestar Galactica. Teryl Rothery played a real estate agent in an early Smallville episode

It must be fun to be a Vancouver actor. You can potential be on a dozen shows in a week

Lol. That scene is actually supposed to be removed in this version.

...

But, imagine the number of people who kept watching Stargate to get some more of that. Especially from Amanda Tapping. Don't take away what little they have... :( ;)

a bit of news...Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that MGM is in serious financial trouble....so if they go down...Stargate might go with it

I think Sony would probably snatch the distribution rights up for Bond....EON Productions actually produces the current films...MGM was just distributing

That's not good. Guess I better start buying the rest of the seasons:csad:

Thats a big name brand now, some company would buy that up quick if MGM starting selling.

Interesting. I wonder what that refers to. Maybe the Wraith finally dying out because of all the Earthlings' meddling. :)

That's old news to me. When Sony got 20% control of MGM (and so did other companies) you knew they were in debt.

Hey if you love stargate and want to join a new community of fans plus have the added bonus of watching episodes online in your browser (and soon Stargate Universe, when the episodes are aired) then come take a look at

I always cringe when I hear terms like "sexier" and "grittier" in interviews about sequels or additions to franchises. But I don't think SGU is particularly aimed at me anyway, so it's cool.

Heya,

That's a horrible Preview for SGU...it's turning me off, and fast. I did like the org. SG1 and Atlantis, but that...I dunno. =/

Ugh when has Stargate been about being sexy ?
There have been a lot of sexual overtones throughout the series. The pilot had nudity originally, many of the Goa'uld "gods" kept concubines, O'Neill spent a fair bit of the first season doing the Captain Kirk thing of banging random alien women, various actresses were cast in guest roles for sex appeal, etc.

Granted, Stargate did typically shy away from relationship storylines with major characters more often than not. Jack/Sam, John/Teyla, and Daniel/Vala were always only hinted at or shown in alternate realities. But we had McKay dealing with a couple relationships over the years. Nothing particularly hot and heavy, though. Maybe all SGU intends to do is stop shying away from those major character romances. That wouldn't be too bad, I guess.
