State Your Opinion on a Character!!!! (Reboot) - Part 3

my big problem with the morlocks was the same with the whole freakin island of them of genosha. the deluge of all these mutants took away from the uniqueness of the Xmen! if you have them saying humans hate us and we dont belong, then why not just go to the island and you wont be bothered. with all these mutant running around living in sewers. it made the Xmen who were fighting for equality look like pompous d-bags living in a mansion with a freaking jet underground and Gorgio Armani custom made spandex oufits.
But mutants have always been presented as a metaphor for minority groups. Sorry, you're not actually a minority group if your entire population is like 40 people. It makes sense for the Morlocks and Genosha and a hundred other mutant havens to exist because if they're even 0.1% of the world's population, that's still at least 6 million people.

Callisto.....she's a one time antagonist used to elevate Storm and should have never been heard from again. I don't know why she's still kicking around, she's outlived her usefulness.

I never got the point of the Morlocks after Magneto took over Genosha. They had an entire country where they'd be welcome as opposed to living in the sewers of some place they all get massacred every couple years.

I mean in retrospect it's kind of a good idea they didn't but it looked good.

It can't be easy to migrate from the sewers of NYC to an island off the coast of Africa. Especially when you look like a freak of nature. Remember, most of the Morlocks were not southern belles, sexy redheads or skinny teenage girls.

If not for cartoons, I'd probably forget she existed.

At the time Magneto was offering every single mutant on the planet to come join him. I'm sure he'd find a way to transport a few dozen of them over considering he already had thousands of mutants ready to die for him had he asked.

Besides, what would the X-Men have done? Said no for them wanting to go live somewhere that isn't a sewer, where they could be accepted for who they are without fear of getting butchered every other day? Maybe they would have but they would have helped if they said Maggie would help them just to spite him.

I dunno man. This is the same place where villains keep trying to rob banks in a big city filled with heroes. You think they would try robbing a bank in Arizona or something.

Ehh, I'd say it's better to think of the Morlocks like you would the homeless. Sure there's plenty of programs and shelters they could go to that could help them get their lives together, but it's not that simple. They've built their own little society down there. They're not about to just up and leave what they know behind. Not to mention, these are mostly people with severely disfigured mutations. You really think the beautiful mutants will truly accept them? You think Mags is gonna sit down at a fancy banquet with Maggot? In real world terms I'd liken it to a more extreme metaphor of the brown paper bag rule that was and still is in some places, a sad and shameful aspect of African American Culture.

Quite frankly that would be a great story...but they too busy writing the X-Men fighting each other. :o

Hahahahahahahahahahaha! that cracked me up Run!
I been to Arizona and with that Crazy sheriff Joe Arpaio who makes his prisoners wear pink and who teams up with Steven Segal riding a tank in that city. i think paste pot pete and shocker would rather rob banks in NY! the heroes there would only put them in prison and none of that wearing pink %^&*!!
Hahahaha

naw hill-man! yukio might have had her time too, but Callisto was THE ORGINATOR!
she was the the one who got Storm to come over to the "bad girl side" (it's always the bad ones!mom always told me to stay away from the bad ones! ) and showed her whats up! chick gotta her to cut her hair and all that!

* of course all this could have been retcon but i dont do retcon stuff.

See, now this scene has a whole new meaning to me. More so with the tenticles. :wow:

What are those tentacles?
Is that the Japanese xxx version of X-Men?

Calisto's arms. Not sure how she got them though.

Medusa is awesome. Her power is pretty lame, but the way that she acts as queen and interpreter of her mute King husband is usually written really well. Hope they return them to proper royalty status again soon

Dig Medusa! i love her!(hell! i dig all the Inhumans actually!)even when she was a member of the Frightful 4! and i dig her power! She of the crimson long locks rocks!

oh and Hill

that is probably one of the FREAKIEST things i have seen in comics since Comet the Superhorse was in love with Supergirl! my vivid imagination with Those "tentacles arms " is running wild!..man i can handle alot(Tigra, Jocasta) but i dont think i could get with an octopus chick! :cwink:

WOW, BlackVulcan wasn't kidding when he said Callisto wants some action with Storm.
what Spider!! you know i never kid!:cwink:.. hehe

I like Medusa from what I've seen. Granted, it's not a lot. I saw her in a Daredevil crossover where her role was to be basically sad and I saw her in the second (i.e., the good) season of the 90s Fantastic Four cartoon. For part of it, she had lost her memory. Her ability is wonderfully campy, she usually pulls off royalty well, and she's a good/necessary companion for Black Bolt. Plus, how can you hate redheads? ;)
