Used to like Spidey 1 and love 2. 3 came out and I was horrified at them actually releasing that garbage. Then as I rewatched 1 and 2 later I realized I hated them too (except for the action which mostly still looks great). I think possibly I just loved them so much initially because I was glad to just finally see my favourite character in live action.
Toby was quite poor as was Dunst. The dialogue in all of them was lame and stilted.
I could go on.

In all the films the thing I really like is just seeing Spidey with mask on doing regular Spidey stuff. They got that right form the 1st film with Spider-man coming alive out of the comics. The rest has been hit and miss but even in ASM2 which is one of the worst films I've seen in ages, I still love the regular Spidey stuff and could rewatch it just for that.

I can't say I can ever see Lyja as anything other than a way to fix the "Alicia and Johnny are married" thing, and she's never much interested me much. Hot space chicks are a dime a dozen, so it's gonna take more to register as a comic book character for me.

Sentry? So... We have TWO freakin' Hyperions, Blue Marvel, Gladiator... Was the Marvel U. really in need of another faux Superman?

Both are plot devices that if we never saw again....then we'd be perfectly fine.

I like having Sentry in the universe. Gladiator's one of a kind with his great attitude so I don't count that as too much of an overlap even if the powers are similar.

Sentry is one of my top favourite characters. The original min series is one of the best comic arcs I've read. Just fantastic.

I even liked how they brought him into new Avengers. After that there were some comics they used him in really well but just as many where they clearly had no idea what to do with him and/or nerfed him.

Overall, awesome character who was at times badly used.

Jenkins' Sentry mini really was a masterpiece; like r_h said above. Always liked the character after that, terrible misuse and all.

Lyja- was okay impersonating aicia and getting with johnny but in reality was a skrull! it was like a miniature, better done secret invasion! she was alright

that other guy can go suck mothballs! a Deus ex machina, MacGuffin device with the power of a million exploding suns who dropped outta nowhere in the Marvel Universe and was expected for us to just swallow it! i can swallow a mad purple titian in love with death, but i aint buying that million suns crap! i dont just swallow anything you know!

I've never hated Sentry like so many others seem to. Mostly it's just indifference. He was a cool concept that never really reached his full potential. And I'll never forgive him for killing Ares!

The Raimi movies are fine but they are way too campy at times and Tobey and Dunst just didnt do it for me at all. All the villains were great though exept for venom. I think spider-man 3 is a freaking abomination but that birth of the sandman scene was a masterpiece. And i love me some Daffoe as goofy he was, plus i tihnk im the only person that didnt hate the goblin suit.

I can't stand the Sentry so bad. He was a cool concept but Bendis just fcked it all up. Hearing you guys talk about the Jenkins mini makes me wanna check it out and i will =D

Raimi Spider-man movies - 1 was okay, I hate origin movies though. 2 was great all around and my favorite. 3 is annoying, too many great options for movies and they just dumped them all in together to make a mess.

Lyja - Kinda okay? Not really crazy about her but never really read a bunch with her.

Sentry - **** that guy. I loved his start in New Avengers with everybody and thought it was a great story but after that I just grew to hate him. He annoys me, he was supposed to be everybodys best friend and the greatest guy ever. Then they made him bat**** crazy. He's known to murder folks for kicks, when he feels like it, by accident, on purpose or because 'the devil' made him do it. It's all still on him though but everyone just lets it go. They ***** out Wolverine more about murdering people than this guy and he just gets away with it because he's crazy.

Then they show how badly ****ed up he is in Siege and finally kill him off then have the whole graveyard scene where everybody says how amazing he was and how he cheated on his wife with Rogue (which nobody calls out) and then says "He'll be back". Ugh, it's like a crappy fanfic.

No apologies to any Sentry fans! (That means you Havoc! )

I kinda dig Thundra to a certain degree. I think it was cool that they came up with this vivacious warrior woman to sort of be Ben Grimm's Catwoman like sparring partner. And the whole Machus/Femizonia thing could really be used interestingly if some writer gave it a shot. But... Yeah if she disappeared off the face of the Marvel U. I probably wouldn't do more than shrug. Sad but true.
