Been done before, I was the last host, willing to host it again as I dropped it nearly two years ago and no one picked up since then

Why reboot? For the new generation
And I admit wanting to comment on characters I couldn't comment on before, cause I entered late

Here's how we'll play this time, the 'daily update' rule stays, might throw in one character or two each day, and throwing new characters or guys to appear in recent movies. Feel free to meteor a character you don't like, or typeface one you don't know of
And I'll save the list of characters in Microsoft Office Word, the lack of tables here is irritating,

I'm feeling generous today, so I'll throw in two characters

Winter Soldier

Discussing the 616 versions, not the movie versions

Male kith is irritating to me.

WS is one of the few resurrections I thought was well done. That being said I was done with him after the initial story line. They could kill him back off now as far as I'm concerned.

I don't read Thor, have almost no knowledge of who Malekith is
All I know about him is Deadpool's narration of him in the Thor comic mission in LEGO Marvel

Winter Soldier was great as Cap, his resurrection is probably the best resurrection in comic books, or maybe my favorite

Winter Solider is a great character. He's been in limbo since his series was cancelled a while back. I'm sure he's resurfacing soon since the Cap movie is right around the corner and we know how Marvel is with doing everything for the movie crowd.

As a matter of fact, I thought I read something about him appearing in a book. I want to say this years event "Original Sin" but I could be wrong.

hahaha COOL Spider:up: this is like "52" State your opinion!:cwink:

Male-eh! i had books with that dude and dont remember anything worthwhile. i would have preferred if they had Loki created the Absorbing man or the Wrecker in that Thor the dark world flick than that dude!

Solider - is FREAKING COOL ASS!! that dude rocks!!

Loved the Sentry in Jenkins' original mini. One of my favorite stories of all time.

Unfortunately, he suffered under Bendis. I did, however, like his final depiction with the Void being the Wrath of God. I thought that was pretty awesome.

Eh, was never too crazy about him. He's gone now and I don't really miss him.

Sentry can be a good character, he's good in the first few pages of Vengeance of Moon Knight #02, and he's good breaking Carnage in halves in space, that moment made me really like the Sentry
Age of Sentry issues with Bob wearing a mask are fun

I don't like how he's written in Iron Man v4 when he was after Tony, sat down screaming when Tony gave him all these alerts to think of at once, didn't bounce from one scene of action to another really fast like he should have done, like he could do

It depends on who writes him and how he's written

Malekith and Sentry - No comment. Really haven't read anything with them in it.

Winter Soldier - Love him. Brubaker made him one of my favorite characters. Happy that bringing him back gave us another great character, not just using the resurrection as a plot device.

The Sentry, as you can tell from my avvy, is easily one of my favourites of all time... perhaps my favourite.
The original mini is gold. Just fantastic fantastic stuff.
I really liked how Bendis brought him into the New Avengers, particularly ripping Carnage in half, etc.
After that there were some really good moments here and there but there were also times (mostly all by Bendis) where he was just portrayed very poorly. The way he was portrayed by Pak at the end of WWH was especially terrible. Sentry is supposed to have all this intelligence and his glow is supposed to automatically calm down the Hulk yet we see absolutely none of that used against the Hulk just so that we can be given some lame stalemate ending.

A couple brief but great uses: Punisher #1 during Dark Reign, Agents of Atlas (1 or 2, I'm not sure), and the one shot issue The Return where Absorbing Man tries to absorb Sentry's powers and basically explodes.

I kind of liked the ending of him in Siege. Him killing Ares was epic (though gross) and smiling after getting hit by Thor's hammer was great. Him asking Thor to kill him in the end was a decent finish for a character they clearly didn't know how to use in the long term. Only problem was it didn't make a whole lot of sense since they'd already shown that Sentry had tried to kill himself but wasn't able to so why was this time any different? They'd also shown that he resurrected himself multiple times after being killed (which was the worst addition to the character by Bendis imo) so why would this time stick?

Anyways, hope he gets brought back for another epic story line yet, but we'll see.

I absolutely hate Sentry. He was a whiny little b**** with Gary Sue powers; I can't stand characters who are afraid of their powers. Either man up & control your powers or go away.

Just read the Hulk vs Windego in Vegas (Hulk 7-9, when Rulk was new)
Sentry is pretty good as a character under Jeff Loeb's direction

I think that's exactly it. Sentry is great under proper writers. People like Jenkins, Loeb, and Remender used him well. Bendis had some good moments but overall failed for me. Pak's rendition wasn't that great either.

So in order for someone to use Sentry, I'd prefer that they really understand the character and don't run from how powerful he is. I've said it before, but he belongs in space.

if i had the infinity gaunlet, the ultimate nullifer, the power battery on oa, Mongul's War-World, Galactus's World devouring ship and they all consisted of Suckiness!! thats HOW MUCH that DUDE WOULD SUCK!!
BOO THAT DUD!...( i know it "dude" but in this case it works!):cwink:

Rocket Raccoon

The movie needs to be really good

that guy has *scavenged around looking for food in the GARBAGE CAN OF COOLNESS!!
COOL AS HELL!!

* get it cause racoons are nocturnal scavengers! hehe:cwink:

Rocket Raccoon is one of those Marvel characters that is just straight out F-U-N.

Rocket Raccoon is like, for lack of better words, the Deadpool of space.

He's just hilarious.

Hate Rocket Raccoon. He's a talking raccoon. Can't help but think that's stupid. Whatever charm people find in the character I also can't help but think would be much better coming from a non-raccoon. It's about as stupid as if the Avengers movie had included a talking can of tomato soup that cracked jokes and shot guns. Just stupid.

DnA won me over on him. My favorite scene was from War of Kings after Gladiator realized Raccoon had tricked him. He tried winning the big guy over with his soft fur :)

He's like Wolverine with guns
I like the little critter
And he is a raccoon, even is he says he's not

I really like Rocket Raccoon. In fact I love everything he represents.

Finding old washed out 70s 80s and 90s properites that have been left for dead and making somthing fun out of them.

Star Lord fits in there as well. If DnA would have "won the war" maybe we'd have some freakin Crystar in GOTG by now or something.

THANOS

Guardians of the Galaxy better be a very good movie

Thanos is great. I think he is a very strong villain in hero-centric stories, but he is also one of the few villains that I think can actually carry his own stories, as well.
