Well I mean the movie as a whole was disappointing in so many ways, save for Daft Punk's amazing scoring and great costumes, but never agreed with any effects complaints I've read over the years.

With that said, I wish we had more movies scored by Daft Punk, and even Marilyn Manson; his Resident Evil work is great.

IKR! I've been saying this for years, his Resident Evil theme is one of my favorite themes ever.

I think it's a great movie. But it wasn't the best Bond of all time like they said when it came out. That honor goes to Casino Royale for me.
I agree. I also think I prefer Spectre over Skyfall.

While the script needed more work, I truly love Spectre and think it is my favorite of them (though, not the best.)

Spectre reactions have been sooooo mixed.

I'm gonna have to check it out.

I liked Spectre. There were things I liked about it better than Skyfall, though I'm not sure that I'd say it's better overall. I need to see it again to make that decision. I do find Skyfall a bit overrated though. It's a good movie, but I think it falls apart in the third act, once you find out that all Silva really cares about is killing M (which he had a clear opportunity to do earlier but didn't).

Silva didn't just care about killing M. He wanted to also destroy her legacy as well as expose her past indiscretions and failures. Killing her was just the endgame.

Sometimes I really hate this thread when it comes to new movies that just came out.

Was something spoiled?

Yes, on the previous page a fellow poster reveals the big twist from Spectre. I mentioned adding spoiler tags, but he/she hasn't done it yet. For anyone scrolling down the page who hasn't seen the film, it's a huge spoiler.

I enjoy Skyfall more than Casino Royale, but it's close. I think CR is a great movie I just think Skyfall is better (probably because the Villain and cinematography).
The less said about Spectre and Quantum of S*** the better.

Not an unpopular opinion but I'll say it anyway. The de-ageing of Michael Douglas (Ant Man) was so good I thought they had edited clips from the Streets of San Francisco or something.

The Fly (80's) is the only movie that scared me a child and has managed to scare me as cynical adult (saw it last week for Halloween).
Probably, no definitely, the scariest movie I have seen in my life. I've only seen it twice. Never again.

What's everyone's IMAX experiences been like?

Saw "Spectre" last weekend and there wasn't much detail or texture to the picture beyond a giant blow-up projection. It was fairly easy to make out subtle blocks of pixels that I'd expect to see on a digital video file playing on a computer monitor.

Maybe it was a bad print. Haven't seen a movie in IMAX since "Winter Soldier" and was really impressed with what I'm assuming was a standard 3D conversion. Before that, I'd only been for "Avatar" and thought that was great, too.

I don't tend to watch IMAX, it's a little too big for my liking. At the regular cinema I like to sit as high in the seats as possible, center of the back row is ideal. I recall going to IMAX when it first came out in New Zealand, at which time they didn't show movies, only special documentaries and 3D shows so it was kind of a novelty. But to watch a movie, especially one I haven't seen before, I don't think I'd go out of my way to see an IMAX screening.

Casino Royale was kinda boring though, it had the same problem as Skyfall, both needed to be at least 20 minutes shorter.

I'm considering going to a 70mm theater for Tarantino's new movie.

Spectre wasn't shot in IMAX and probably had no business being on IMAX screens, so that's probably why it seemed it had some detail issues.

My favorite and best IMAX experiences have probably been Avatar, M:I Ghost Protocol, The Dark Knight/Rises, Interstellar, Gravity, Inception. I'm in the group that loves IMAX (and 3D for the most part here and there) and if it was shot with IMAX cameras then I think it's something worth checking out in full. I've got my tickets for Episode 7 in IMAX 3D and I've read that that movie was at least partially shot in IMAX so hopefully it looks good on IMAX screens.

Hear, hear. I've only seen a couple of parts of The Fly, and that was more than enough for me because the parts I saw traumatized me as a kid.

One day when I was really little, I was in the same room with my dad while he was watching The Fly. I just wanted to hang out with him or something, I guess (though I remember minding my own business coloring or something). Well, I saw a few parts, and after the arm wrestling scene happened, I cried and screamed. Silly dad; he thought I wasn't paying attention. Haha.

I can watch a lot of scary stuff now, but The Fly and The Exorcist STILL unsettle me to this day. I still avoid those movies.

By the way, since I see a lot of opinions about Spectre ...

I enjoyed Spectre; I thought it was a fun movie. Sure, it's flawed (due to the script, honestly), but I enjoyed it.

The one criticism towards the film that perplexes me is the tone. Yes, it's the most over-the-top and "lighthearted" of the Daniel Craig movies ... But I'm surprised that people are acting surprised? Skyfall pretty much promised that the film following it would be more "classic" Bond. Skyfall spent a lot of time setting that up, actually.

Yeah, people saying it's basically Roger Moore-style must have seen a different film that I did.

Be careful what you wish for. I complained that the tone of the Craig Bond movies where too 'gritty, sombre and realistic' and that it should veer closer to what people normally consider 'true' Bond movies. Well, Spectre is the result.

Normally my favourite movies of all time are the movies I love so much I can watch them again and again. Well, The Fly is my favourite horror movie of all time and I have only seen it twice and can confidently predict wont watch again.

My other favourite horror movies like Evil Dead 2, Attack the Block, 28 Days, I have seen multiple but they don't' 'scare' me.

I haven't liked either of the David O Russell movies I've seen (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) and neither of them make me want to bother with the rest of his filmography.

Just watched Spy. 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and I thought it was a pile of unadulterated ****. We'll, comedies are subjective.

Raid 1 and Purge 1 are better movies than Raid 2 and Purge 2
The sequels become bigger but become less interesting in its story and characters

I thought Raid 2 was a league better than the first movie. I checked out of Raid 1 and only watched the sequel because I was round my friend's house and he had it on.
