PQube is bringing Steins;Gate to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in 2015, the publisher announced.
The critically acclaimed visual novel game comes from Mages and 5pb’s Science Adventure Team. It follows a band of students who discover how to send text messages to the past. But their experiments soon spiral out of control.

Steins;Gate is the award-winning time travel science-fiction interactive visual novel developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus. STEINS;GATE was awarded Famitsu magazine’s coveted annual Game of Excellence award, and was voted one of the most emotionally charged “tear-inducing games” ever made, in a Famitsu poll. It is widely considered to be the finest Visual Novel ever made.
Steins;Gate follows a rag-tag band of tech-savvy young students who discover the means of changing the past via text message, using a modified microwave. Their experiments into how far they can go with their discovery begin to spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organization behind the Large Hadron Collider, and John Titor – a mysterious forum poster who claims to be from a dystopian future.
Interaction with the game takes place through the “phone trigger” system, where the player can receive calls and text messages and decide whether to reply to them or not, changing the outcome of the game’s plot.

A Steins;Gate sequel called Steins;Gate 0 is currently in development, 5pb. announced during a TwitCasting presentation this morning.
The story is set after Rintarou Okabe was not able to save a certain someone from the Beta world line in the Steins;Gate: Epigraph of the Closed Curve light novel. The stories from the drama CDs and light novels will act as one of the game’s “roots,” but Steins;Gate 0 is not a game-ification of the novels. It is described as a legitimate numbered sequel with a new scenario.
Steins;Gate 0‘s staff is as follows:

• Producer: Tatsuya Matsubara
• Character Design: Huke

5pb.'s sci-fi visual novel lands on June 5.

Steins;Gate will launch via retail and digitally in Europe on June 5, publisher PQube has announced.
As for the North American release, PQube head of marketing Geraint Evans told Rice Digital that, “the US version is still in submission — for a second it was looking like we would have to make a change to the game, and obviously this is something we did not want to do. Thankfully Steins;Gate will remain intact. We’ll update on release timings when it exits Sony submission in the US”.
Game UK will have an exclusive limited edition of Steins;Gate, which includes an art book, while Rice Digital will have an exclusive “El Psy Kongroo Edition” of the game, which includes the same art book and a set of exclusive pin badges.

Sci-fi visual novel out next month in Europe.

PQube Games has released a new trailer and screenshots for Steins;Gate, introducing the characters of the science fiction visual novel.
Introduced in the trailer include:

• Okabe Rintaro – Eccentric, self proclaimed mad scientist and founder of the ‘Future Gadget Lab’ – a small group of friends who have an ambition of overthrowing the rule of the world.
• Mayuri Shiina – Okabe’s long-time friend, Mayuri enjoys creating cosplays and works part time at a maid café. She is always cheerful and positive – greeting everyone with a friendly ‘tuturu!’
• Itaru Hashida – An experienced computer programmer, super-hacker and Otaku, his affection for Faris can often lead him say crude and inappropriate things out loud.
• Makise Kurisu – An extremely talented neuroscience researcher at an American University, Kurisu is drawn into Okabe’s world because of her scepticism of his experiments.
• Faris Nyannyan – The most popular waitress at the Maid Café ‘Mayqueen Nyannyan’ and a mean RaiNET player, she is very much the object of Itaru’s affection.
• Moeka Kiryu – A mysterious and shy young woman, Moeka rarely speaks – instead preferring to communicate through text messages, even if her friends are in the same room.
• Suzuha Amane – Athletic part-time assistant at the workshop belonging to Okabe’s Landlord, Suzuha has a keen interest in Okabe’s work. She enjoys riding her bicycle.
• Luka Urishibara – Shy and feminine, Luka is often mistaken for a girl. As a result he is incredibly self conscious and unsure of his true feelings.

Steins;Gate is due out for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in Europe on June 5. A North American release date has not yet been announced.

The game was originally slated for a November 19 release in Japan, but it will now release on December 10, 2015. Protagonist Rintarou Okabe has upgraded from his feature phone to a smartphone. Different from sending e-mails, you can now exchange messages via the RINE app in real-time. Your friends’ reactions will change based on your responses. When a new message arrives, you’ll get an indication in the upper left corner of the screen. You’ll be able to enjoy both the main story, as well as ordinary conversations with the game’s characters. And the ability to use lots of stickers, of course.

PQube will release Steins;Gate 0 for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in 2016, the publisher announced.




The visual novel will appear at London MCM Comic-Con this weekend, with a trailer playing as part of the trailer reel at the Rice Digital booth. If you’re in attendance, whisper “El Psy Kongroo” to the staff and you’ll get a free Steins;Gate 0 poster.




Steins;Gate 0 is a sci-fi visual novel that explores a branch of one of Steins;Gate‘s alternate endings. It sees Rinataro Okabe and the Future Gadget Lab members, along with new characters, star in a story about AI and the creation of something called “Amadeus,” which allows users to interact with the stored memories of another person.

If you wanted another chance to experience Steins;Gate you’ll be getting another chance pretty soon. The game’s creator Chiyomaru Shikura announced on twitter that the visual will be getting a release in English on iOS sometime in September.


No specific date or price was mentioned. There was also no mention of a release on Android. In other news regarding the series, Steins;Gate 0 is currently set for release in the west sometime this year for the PS4 and Vita.

Steins;Gate follows a rag-tag band of tech-savvy young students who discover the means of changing the past via mail, using a modified microwave. Their experiments into how far they can go with their discovery begin to spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organisation behind the Large Hadron Collider, and John Titor who claims to be from a dystopian future.
Interaction with the game takes place through the “phone trigger” system, where the player can receive calls and text messages and decide whether to reply to them or not, changing the outcome of the game’s plot.

Online retailer Rice Digital will sell an “Amadeus Edition” of Steins;Gate 0 in North America and Europe, the retailer announced.


The Amadeus Edition costs $89.99 on PlayStation 4 (US, EU) and $79.99 on PS Vita (US, EU), and includes the following content:​

PQube has announced a limited edition for Steins;Gate 0, which is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in Q4 2016.


The limited edition includes a standard edition copy of the game, a Steins;Gate 0 art book, and a high-quality presentation box.
As for availability, PQube says it will be available at GAME in the United Kingdom, and to check with your local retailers for availability in the rest of Europe and North America.




A more content-full “Amadeus Edition” of Steins;Gate 0 was also announced last week.

Steins;Gate 0 will launch both physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America on November 29 and Europe on November 25, publisher PQube announced at MCM Comic-Con in London.
The game will be available in standard, limited, and Rice Digital-exclusive Amadeus editions.
