You may want to see who I was responding to, champ. Someone said Chastain came to mind when looking at Sofia Lillis.

But Amy Adams is perfect for it?

I think she's better than Chastain. Don't know if it makes her perfect, but how is Chastain perfect?

That's a great film, by the way, A Most Violent Year. Even though it's more like A Most Violent Month.

Chastain isn't perfect but she's pretty ideal for the role of Bev, if you ask me.

No one has seen the performance yet (gasps) however the director seems to think Chastain is right for the role so there.

Hopefully now that we've got one name in the mix, more of the Losers will be popping up soon.

    *crosses fingers for Corey Stoll*

Yes please. I think Corey Stoll would be pretty great for Bill. Well, whoever is cast for Bill I hope he is the best choice.

As a huge fan of the novel, Chastain would be great in the role. I think she can pinpoint the hardened survivor with vulnerabilities towards abusive men.

Adams would also be a great Bev so I think either could do the role justice and bring Beverly to life.

Amy Adams may look more like Sophie Lillis but I can see her growing up to be Chastain too in the world of design and fashion. Chastain embodies that maybe better

Chastain is good, but I think Adams is leagues ahead of her in terms of acting ability. I'd be happy with either as Bev, though.

I like Amy Adams more, but that doesn't mean she is only person for the role. Chastain is a fine choice and will do great.

Just seen the 'original' 1990 t.v. film again on television whilst flicking through the channels tonight and watching it as a 43 year old man, rather than a 15 year old when first seeing it, it really is tosh. Not good tosh either. For years it 'hung together' off the back of Tim Curry's performance, but I wouldn't even say that's that good in all honesty. The 2017 version is so vastly superior.

TV was a lot more limiting back then as far as what they could do with hard content. The book is borderline NC-17.

I'll get hate for this, but I think the mini series is as good (or bad, depending on how you look at it) as the movie. It's not great, but neither was the movie. At least the mini series is set in a later 50's setting, and has a sense of atmosphere, something the movie was sorely lacking in.

I don't think the new film is perfect, but the fact that it doesn't have the horrendous acting that many of the adult actors did in the mini is easily enough to make it a better piece of entertainment.

The mini-series is pretty darn bad. It's only considered good to some folks due to Youtube edited clips of Tim Curry.

I watch the mini series regularly. Mainly for nostalgia, as I remember watching it when I was 9 when it first aired. It's mediocre at best, mostly because of the charisma of the kid actors and Tim. But I enjoy watching it, none the less.

I love the new adaption. One of my favorites from last year.

The mini-series is a great time capsule, but 2017’s It is a more definite adaptation.

And I love the 80’s and I guess the early 90’s. But folks have to remember TV mini-series/movies we’re not great during that era.

Either Chastain or Adams would have been acceptable, and Adams technically looks more like an older Lillis, but personally I prefer Chastain.

They're both solid actresses and either would have been a fine pick though, so there's really no losing side here IMO.

The movie is better than the mini-series, but I still enjoy the mini-series. It is good fun.

Only problem with Chanstain is she looks nothing like Sophia Lillis. Amy would have been better

I think Chastain could do a great job as adult Bev!

Does that really matter though? Most movies, the child actor bears little resemblance to the adult one.
