Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes

I watched half of it, but then I had to go.
What happened in the 2nd half?

Do you mean the first hour, or a half hour of the first ep? There were two eps on today and they didn't have anything to do with each other.

Anyway the first ep was really cool. The second one was alright, not as good as the first though. Can't wait to see what other stories they show.

The first episode was a lot of fun...even though it was very similar to this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0554713/ ...but the FX are a lot better now.

The second episode was pretty wierd...interesting, but not really for repeat viewing.

I love King, but I haven't read many of his short stories. I enjoyed these alot, though. The first was lots of fun, and the second tied into "The Dark Tower" (*nerdgasm*) AND referenced HP Lovecraft (*nerd-sloppy-seconds*).

Haven't read the DarkTower books yet, so didn't get the reference.

As to the first one.....when the camera pans around Hurt's room when he sets up his "trophy"....one of the things seen is a Voodoo like doll of a wild man with big head and big teeth.
That is the killer doll from the 70's TV movie "Trilogy of Terror". At first I thought this was just a fine homage to "movie with killer toy come to life"
...but it turns out the episode tonight was adapted by Richard Christian Matheson...and "trilogy of Terror" was written by his father...Richard Matheson...so it was a homage to his dad

I loved the first episode, and while the second had a lot of great things strewn throughout it, it just wasn't allowed the time to do anything special.:(

Very good stuff. Will definately be tuning in next week.

I thought that doll looked familiar. I've seen that movie.

The first episode was fun to watch, and did anyone notice that no one talks in it?

The second episode was weird, and I couldn't stand it,and it had commercials in it,I thought there weren't suppose to be commercials, the first episode didn't have them.

What reference is that Lee? Is it the thinny, because would be the only thing I could recognize.

I have no idea. Bored (in post #5) above said that the second episode tied in with the "Dark Tower" books(but didn't say how)...and I replied that I hadn't read any of the "Dark Tower" books so didn't know the reference he was referring to.

IMO it was great. I'm a fan of those kind of quirky shows and a huge TZ geek. So many of them are crappy but this seemed very well done. I'm hoping that it can keep up to a high standard.

Does anyone else remember a show called The Dark Room? It came on in the 80's and had an episode just like the one with the army figures.

The first one sucked. Nobody would do any of the things that he did.

Yeah, it's the thinny.

Yeah, and little army toys do NOT come to life. What is your point?? It's all about fantasies, dreams and nightmares. Half of what you see in movies and television are things that nobody would do.

I liked the first one a lot and thought it was weird that there wasn't any talking. I'm watching the second one right now and I'm not to impressed, but I'll give the entire series a chance.

The story "You Know They Got A Hell Of A Band" Is the one I'm waiting for. I loved that story in the book. :)

The Road Virus Heads North is the one I really want to see.

I like the first show a lot and the second was o.k. I'm glad they got some good actors signed on for this.

have they done Chattery teeth that was the worst short story ever! i really hope they do the one about the mob guy's cadillac:up:

-"Umney's Last Case" was a bad episode.

-"The End of the Whole Mess" was an ok episode.

The End of the Whole Mess was almost word for word with the story in the book. :)
