Stores you miss going to

Sam Goody! ahhaha ohhhh man I haven't heard that name in such a long time. You win

Are there actually any music stores around anymore? I ask after they closed the FYE I would go to last year.

Not really a store, but I have nostalgia thinking about the arcade when I was a kid.

I was just going to post that. I miss them immensely. From malls to amusement parks....they're practically extinct. They're still huge in Asia though.

And Hills. Sort of the precursor to Wal-Mart in a lot of areas. Did anyone have Hills in their state?
Nah, but I did have Caldor, which was kind of absorbed by K-Mart. There's virtually no difference at all between those two stores besides the name, so I can't really say I miss Caldor. I also vaguely remember now-defunct department stores like Ames and Jamesway, but again, I wouldn't really say I miss them.

Remember when Best Buy had rows and rows of CD's/Albums? I saw one lonely little CD stand with dust on it recently at my local BB....it was soo sad.

Service Merchandise were pretty awesome as well. They had the BEST X-Mas catalog. :woot:

I kind of miss Circuit City although I should have jumped on the Best Buy bandwagon earlier.....

I miss Koo Koo Roo, which used to be a food chain that served great food. I really miss them. There's only one left and who knows how long that will last.

JC Westerns and Stitt's Tack and Feed shop. He had the most beautiful western saddles for sale.

Blockbuster. I love Netflix, but their selection is still limited compared to what my local Blockbuster had.

BooksAMillion. I got some of the best calendars there.

Me too, unfortunately this is one of the reasons it went out of business. Most people would go there read books and hang out but not buy anything, I know I did.

I couldn't even be shocked when Borders closed up shop. I helped put them out of business by sitting in their stores and reading the whole of Batman: No Man's Land, Neil Gaiman's Sandman, the entire Ultimate Universe up to (but not including) Ultimatum, Grant Morrison's New X-Men, assorted magazines, a book by Lewis Black, a book by Larry Wilmore...

I hope retailers learned an important lesson about letting customers use their unpurchased merchandise in an environment with comfy chairs and coffee.

I miss Borders. They always stocked their new romances the day they were released.

Loved going to Suncoast for my DBZ VHS tapes. Blockbuster on a Friday night. Old school Toys 'R' Us.

KB Toys
Toys R Us
Blockbuster

I used to love Gadzooks and Pacific Sun too but I dunno if those are still around or not. I know PacSun ended up selling stupid stuff and here, Gadzooks became a store for girls. Are Hot Topics still a thing? They were awesome from like 97-2003 or so but after that meh

I remember when I was kid and my mom and I would go to a mall, my favorite stores were KayBee Toys, Babbages, Sam Goody, and Waldenbooks; and if the mall had one, Suncoast.

Now all five of those stores are gone. I also miss Funcoland, best place to get NES games for cheap.

They were expensive, but I miss Suncoast as well. Although they aren't a particular store,I do miss those old mom and pop video stores, and arcades. Hills department stores were fun too. I remember they had these great soft pretzels at the front of the store.

Hot Topic is alive and well. They're doing extremely well I think.

Also, another one, does anyone remember Rhino Video Games? That place was like heaven when I was little.
